Thanks Corine... yeah she's fairly tolerant of the silly things I make her do most of the time!!! The lazy thing loves nothing more than lazing on her back... but most of the time I'm sure she does it just to make me laugh, she loves to play the fool!!!

Now come on, I'm SURE you have some Christmas photos hidden somewhere if the birthday party was any indication!!!

Did Mel and Dunc get spoilt rotten? :)

We had a ridiculously busy Christmas and I'm ashamed to say we didn't get around to taking doggy chrissy photos. I didn't even get a chance to take any of the doggie pressies being unwrapped, the OH unwrapped them before I could ;) . One of our friends gave them some toys and bikkies, one of the toys had to be thrown out after 10 mins because Duncan chewed the top of the "Dog Cola" bottle. I guess he just couldn't find an opener and wanted his Cola :D .

Cheers,

Corine

 Yep certainly worth the wait!!! I have to say I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the last pic of her running from the surf... To see her such a happy girl enjoying life so much is all captured in that pic!!!

The 'not happy jan' pic is also a goodie :( She looks as happy as Chloe was to have the Christmas bells on her feet!!!

Thanks for the pics, glad you had such a nice time and it's great to see Mallee Moo having some fun!!!

I know what you mean, fido . .. I haven't any good pics of Bouf for Christmas either;

But we're going to training on Sunday & I'm going to take my camera & hopefully get someone to take some shots ...

Malleer, I know exactly why you'd be wary of going to training. I find it really hard in some doggy situations ... eg at the vet .. with a large dog. Specially one that looks as macho as Bouf does. ( Looks being the word .. he's the absolute opposite of macho in temperament)

Somehow all the SWF's & small snappies can challenge & challenge & fly at your dog .. & that seems acceptable to their owners .. & almost chuckled at by surrounding people "what a game little tacker !"

Never mind that your big sook is actually very frightened by that behaviour, & is also physically a bit delicate.

I really hope you can find a group like mine .. it's so supportive & Bouf & I have dispensation to do things "Our Way" .

 Just got an image of Frank Sinatra singing " I did it the CL wayyyyyyyyy" :(

& that photo of Mallee coming out the surf teared me up :o I NEVER tear up

& your baby photos of Chloe, Kelly :happydance2: so sweet & she's doing so great.

OMG .. am I getting too atttached to you all ? :happydance2: is this what Channel 7 means by inappropriate Net connections ?

Yeah that last photo of Mallee is pretty special to us too. I can still look at it and get all mushy - but - i am a big softy from way back....

And geees Bilby its not that hard to get attached to us...we are just soo lovely and great.....lol.........

BTW Kel - I LUV Chloe's new collar - i would love one for Mal like that but i think Brock would die......not quite what he would like on his dog while he is walking her i doubt......

Ahahahahaha Bilby, you're becoming a big CL softie like us!!! It's all part of the process!!! Unfortunately there is no cure...

Well you might not have Chrissy pics, but some new ones of the suave Bouf would be nice - big sooko he is!!!

Ant, believe me Dad does not walk Chloe in her new collar unless absolutely necessary. I even tried to make it not so girly so he wouldn't mind... but he is worried someone would roll him in the park for it!!! But it is special, and when she's with me, she's the diamonte princess!!! You can have it done in plain silver letters as well if diamonte's are too girly (or you can have different words other than their names!!)... there are heaps of different styles so if you change your mind I will let you know where I got it from (over the internet)!!!

Have a good day all!!!

Kel,

You have to let me know where you got it from - i was going to try to make one of the ones made out of beads but thought it might be a tad trickey............well especially with bug a lugs hanging around all the time, i am sure more beads would end up in her stomach than on the collar.

Its a leather collars yeah??

BTW i nearly forgot - hugs to my Chlo Boo tonight when you get home

OMG .. I missed the collar .. I was too busy looking at the leggy toys.

What a bling princess !

I would like to get one for Axle .. just so it's really clear that he does belong to someone. Website ?

We've now fenced the back home yard to 1200mm .. still not high enough to keep the litt;e tacker in.

Any ideas for collar attachments that will help me see / hear him in the dark ? His tags rattle .. but I'm wondering if there is anything luminous out there ?

He only weighs 4 kilos so attching a cowbell (or brick as Richard has suggested) seems a little cruel.

Okay, here it is... yes it's a leather collar and they come in lots of different colours and prints (I love the African print!!!) - Chloe's is patent leather red (very deep and rich red). Very soft leather with a soft material backing.

http://www.hugodesignerdogwear.com/

These guys were great and I got the collar pretty much the next day (or the day after can't remember). And it wasn't OVERLY expensive.

If you just like gemstones etc, www.topdogs.com.au have some very pretty ones too... but I wanted a customised one so went with Hugo's. She also has a diamonte heart hanging off the front...

Bilby there are lots of reflective go in the dard collars now that will help you out with Axle... I think Top Dogs has one. But i have seen a couple on various websites. Otherwise all I can think of is little bells like you put on cat collars? But let me think a bit on it...

Hey Bilby - you can get these things down her at PetStock that are little LED flashing lights that go on the doggy collars, i was thinking about getting one for Mallee for when we go up the bush so we can keep track of them. A while ago i did a google search on lights for dog collars and few sites came up give that a go.........Ohh that topdog site has refelctive anklets.....fancy!!!

Thanks for the link Kel going to check it out now..

No problems :happydance2: ... here are some links to reflective collars that don't require batteries (and some that do - the LED flashing ones):

Maybe you could also sew on some of those little cat bells (or the ones from bird toys) to make the sounds as well Bilby?

The Top Dogs ones are STYLISH!!!

OH that site is addictive Antoinette... I couldn't leave without getting Chloe something... I'm still eyeing off the African print ones... I think it would go with Chloe's 'complexion' lovely!!! Hehehehehe...

Spoilt bionic dogs.... :(

Hey Kel,

Am having withdrawals need an update on the beautiful ChloBo :scold:

Just wondering how you both are going. Life seems to be moving along so quickly lately - much faster now that the doggies are all recovered hey!!! Can't believe its the end of Feb already - way over a year now since all the drama.

Mallee Moo couldn't be better - the scar on her left side is all but gone, her surgeon has requested a visit to see how she is going so we will try and organise that shortly - her nurse is also bugging me for a visit so must do that to!

Hope all is well with you....

Cheers

Antoinette & Mallee

PS does Chloe have any more bling yet....hehe

Hello! Sorry Ant, only just saw your message! Yes it's been really hectic, especially at work... can't get on much anymore :D

Chloe is well. She gets a bit slow sometimes and her bones are creaky, but she's a happy girl. I have started her on Joint Guard as well, hopefully it will help. Cant stop old age I guess... but for an almost 9yo that's had 2 ops she's going well. She's been chasing some balls and going for long walks and although we don't let her overdo it anymore, she's happy and moves about with pretty good ease considering. She can still bound up the stairs a hundred times a day!!!

Doesn't have anymore bling at the moment, but she has another couple of pressies on the way. I've bought her an elevated feeder cause apparently it's better for dogs with arthritis. I also bought her a new toothbrush and we now brush the teeth every day (sometiems under sufferance). She hasn't quite got the knack of opening the mouth for brushing, so we start with doing it with clenched jaw!!! Hehehehehe.

Glad to hear that Mallee Moo is doing well also. I'm sure the surgeon will be really pleased with her progress. She's come a long way. Does she ever show any signs of pain or anything? I remember that she was suffering from early arthritis due to her injuries.... Arthritis is the big worry for me now. Probably too early for you guys, but it weighs on me heavily. But as long as she's happy I guess that's all we can ask for!!!!

Mallee seems to have stayed out of the wars of late as well... touch wood it stays that way!!! Maybe her gangly puppy accident prone stage is over!!!

Give the lovely Mallee a big hug and smoochy kiss for me.... love to see more pics too!!!

Lotsa love to Aunty Antoinette,

Kel and ChloBo

:cooldance: Hullo guys .. how are you all ?

Bouf is great physically ... but a bit grumpy with our newest addition. He won't let her sleep with him, the meanie.

post-3489-1181020174_thumb.jpg

Gem, my beloved GSD, died from bloat. :happydance: a couple of months back. Fine in the afternoon, dead at 9pm despite rushing her to the nearest vet hospital.

Bess is 12 weeks today, & lifts the gloom a bit. Though one of the many many ways in which I hadn't realised how I'd miss Gem is how good she was at training pups.

Bouf & Axle just don't do it right .. must be a male thing.

post-3489-1181019951_thumb.jpg

TAKE NOTE, boys ! I do not want her to learn how to get through fences, I do not want her to learn to poop inside just because it's winter & you're a JRT who hates getting wet, I do not want her to learn to climb trees ..

but Bess is pretty cluey & smart ( sorry, Bouf - but it is very exciting to have a pup who "gets" it) & Axle is a great playmate for her

Bilby - long time no hear!!

Great to hear from you and that you are well. Firstly, so sorry to hear of the loss of Gem  - bloat is such a horrid thing -hugs to you and your family.

So glad to hear the the beautiful Bouf is coming along really well. Mallee is too, which is fantastic you would not know that there had been anything wrong with her besides her scars. We could not be happier. She has turned into a somewhat social butterfly of late and has been enjoying catching up on lots of lost doggy socialising time and lots of holidays.

Well isn't Bess a sweet heart - is she a lab????? Sorry if i am far far off with the guess!! I do hope Bouf and Axle do not lead her astray....lol....

Glad to hear from you and thanks for the pics.

Hi Bilby,

Long time no hear. Really sorry to hear about Gem - I hope the lovely dear is resting in peace and shaking her head at the antics of your boys right now. There are really no words to console someone when the worst happens, esp when it is so unexpected. But Bess seems to be filling the void and I'm glad she's brought a smile back to your face... and why wouldn't she, she's adorable. Got that awwwwwww, puppy look right now hheheeh. Thanks for the pics, just made my day.

Great to hear that Bouf is coming along so well, I was just saying to Ant that it's like none of this bad stuff ever happened!!! Long forgotten memories, well not really... ChloBo is doing well. Gets a bit stiff sometimes with the cold nights, but if you saw the bugger you'd never know. Goes for 2 or more walks a day, visits the old people up the streets with their dogs... big change from the dog who hid in her bed afraid to go for walks cause her poor old legs hurt. It might have cost the earth, but geez it was worth it. Seeing them well and happy, well it really is priceless hey?

I agree with Ant, I think Bess is a lab too.... I love the pic with her and the giant teddy... she is gorgeous and can't wait to see her towel up those boys one day!!! Nice to see they all get along as best as possible and she has been accepted into the family.

Thanks for the update, must have more of these get togethers!!

Love and hugs to all,

Kel and ChloBO
