Hello, I hope that I am posting in the correct section as I am still new to this forum. We are considering the purchase of a mini poodle in the next 12 - 18 months and if we do this will be the first one we will have purchased from a breeder (have previously had a rescue mini). I have looked through all the breeders online and will try and get to some shows to meet some in person soon. What I was wondering is whether anyone would be prepared to PM me with info regarding breeders or lines that they would recommend (or otherwise!). Our major criteria is temperament - we need an animal that is calm and people focused as after extensive training they'll be used as a behavioural demonstration, assessment and therapy dog, so an unflappable temperament is key. Colour is not important to us. Any tips as to who to contact would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Definately read as much as possible about the breed, go to some events be they shows/obedience trials/agility/dog fun days etc contact the poodle club of your state body and they can recommend breeders of note. No matter what breed of dog temperament can be developed from early days using many programs, the best of which is socialisation lots of people, places, experiences, other breeds of dogs etc. Poodles are extremely intelligent, easily trained and make fantastic pets and working dogs Good luck :)

Oh, poor little sausage. I just read about another little poodle escaping and getting hit by a car. Just breaks my heart.

These almost 4 week old Standard Poodle babies have teeth now so MUM", "Roxy Poodle", is making herself very scarce. Thank goodness we have a rough, tough, true blue, Belgian Shepherd (Malinois) in our canine family, to step up to the challenge

One of my puppy owners is looking for an experienced Poodle groomer within a 20 minute drive from Templestowe in Vic. It is for regular bathing & clipping a Standard Poodle puppy in pet trim. She prefers someone who grooms from home as does not want to leave Poodle in a salon.

It was brought to my attention by one of my puppy owners that There is an ad on Gumtree for 2 free de sexed Standard Poodles. One is Apricot & the other looks blue or silver. Birth date for both given as Dec. 19th 2012. The date does not coordinate with my 2012 litter. I am wondering if the breeder is aware?? IF they need rescue I am happy to help. So far I have not been able to reach the person who appears to live in Point Cook AD ID is 1071263457

Did you find out who is the breeder? I am sure they would want to know that their dogs needed to be rehomed! There are not many breeders of silvers in Oz. I have a written legally binding contract that requires buyers to return the Poodle DIRECTLY to me if FOR ANY REASON at ANY TIME in the Poodles' life, they do not want to or can not keep it. I would be devastated to find out that any dog I bred is advertised on Gumtree . Thank God they found a good home.
