  1. Hi everyone, I'm looking for a comfy orthopedic/memory foam type bed for our senior lab. She spends most of her time inside our warm office resting. Normal polyfill beds flatten out too easily and her shoulders are very sore these days. Can any one suggest a good bed for her?
  2. Exactly. I am so peeved that he/she left it to the last minute to make a crappy attempt at rehoming. Far out.. Haven't heard back and there is no phone number. If she pops up at any pounds I will foster her for a rescue group if needed, we have a husky and 6 foot colorbond fencing.
  3. Hi everyone, I just contacted the owner of this girl to offer to foster her and rehome for them - however I am not in Sydney. Apparently D Day was last night so I expect she has been dumped at the pound. Can anyone get her out? She really shouldn't be there...! http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/rozelle/dogs-puppies/pure-white-female-husky-needs-a-home-asap-/1004292445 If i hear back from the owner I will post here.. I was planning to pick her up on the weekend and bring her home with us as a short term solution.
  4. Hi all, Just wanted to post here in case anyone knows of a whippet needing a forever home. We currently have an 8.5yo labrador wild child and a 6 month old Husky. Indoor/outdoor depending on where we are. We both work from home and love our fur kids as much as the human ones. I love whippets and just thought if there is one out there needing foster or rescue I'd like to look into opening the doors to another doggie :-) Thanks - am in southern nsw..
  5. Thanks so much, lots of good advice! Can't wait to get her here, plenty to get ready for her first though which will keep me busy :-) Great idea about getting a 2nd crate, would save me constantly moving one around. And yes shall post piccies :-)
  6. I guess that could work perhaps if I freeze it too?
  7. Hi all, We have a new pup coming here in 3 weeks and I'd like to be prepared with heaps of Kongs stuffed and ready to go as we will start crate training right away. We don't feed kibble and I'm struggling to work out what to stuff the chew toys with. Can anyone suggest a kibble alternative? Thanks!
  8. Hi everyone, So we are finally taking the plunge and getting a second dog. Pretty excited! I've been reading these forums for ages but decided I better come on and post and hopefully get some advice. Situation is: Current Dog - 8yo Female Lab - 50/50 indoor/outdoor - sleeps inside. If we are away for a weekend she sleeps on our enclosed verandah in her covered crate. New Puppy: Husky! I'm wondering about the best way to go about crate/toilet training the new pup given we have another dog here. I’m reading Ian Dunbar’s puppy articles on bringing puppy home etc and would like to follow that routine however just not sure how to manage with another dog around. She generally hangs out with us inside when we are home and goes outside when we are out. She is happy either way and will amuse herself until we get home with no bad behaviour. Pondering when we are out if we could leave her outside with current dog for company, or will that hinder our crate and toilet training progress? If anyone has any general Sibe training advice or advice on settling in puppies with older dogs that would be great. Our lab is very well socialised and polite, very exuberant but well mannered. It will be really great for her and I'm sure she will take our new girl under her wing and look after her. What is the best way to introduce them? Thanks in advance!
