  1. Hi, will be in Melbourne 23&24 July going to MCG. Does anyone know of pet friendly (one small dog) accommodation? Dont mind 30+ minute drive. Have looked online but no luck so far thanks
  2. Griff I cant believe its 3 years for Sinna and now you've lost Ryan So I'll join you in remembering our loved ones at the bridge. Here's to Callie the most gorgeous fox terrier who left 23rd Dec 2009 There isnt a day goes by I dont think of you little girl have fun till I come get you xx
  3. so sorry for the loss of your special girl sweet dreams gorgeous Maggie
  4. thanks guys Persephone I had a laugh at yours, good reply I have already suggested training, first puppy school when she got him for socialisation then a real trainer when the biting became a problem but she is still in denial hoping it will just stop one day. This tells me why the dog is doing what he wants I dont think there is much consistency in his training unfortunately
  5. I'm asking this for my sister in uk as she is at her wits end. Jimmy is 8 months old and bites everyone, usually without warning and for no apparent reason he just likes biting. They have tried the NO command, yelping and moving away from him, ignoring it, reprimanding it but nothing seems to work. I have never had a puppy I've always had adult rescues so I cant offer any advice. He is a pure bred lhaso apso and she's had him since 8 weeks old.
  6. I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. Tango - taken far too soon. He's up there now waiting for you TD and you will see him again. I hope your memories of him will help you through this hard time. My thoughts are with you
  7. I'm so sorry Loraine, I always read your posts about Zedley and your love for him shone through. Hey little man hope you've met up with Coco and have fun till your mum comes to get you. Take Care Loraine and I hope that some day soon you can think of him and smile again
  8. Oh No Staffyluv!! I've only just seen this - so sorry to hear about Ollie he was indeed an inspiration to so many people myself included. And I reckon it was old age that got him, the cancer wasnt tough enough Farewell Ollie hope you and your dad have been reunited Staffyluv so sorry about both your losses take care x
  9. do you mean you miss them?? if so then yes I used to be like that with my little foxy she was fine alone but I used to miss her and always hurried home to see her
  10. Ear infection Hope it clears up easily - and sorry for hijacking your thread
  11. Helen, not sure how to describe the smell just strong dog smell. She was like this when I got her last year. Her breath used to smell fishy but its getting better with the bones she's eating. Her coat seems normal. Her skin gets a bit moist and she goes red underneath if she's been at the park/walking on grass and it takes a while to go back to normal colour. She also seems allergic to fleas so I go over her eveyday with a flea comb as well as frontline. When i got her she was not itchy or red that started in the spring and is now calming down so its seasonal.
  12. Perhaps a skin condition is causing the odour? One place to start is to look at what you're feeding. when I got her last year (aged 4) she wouldnt eat any hard food including kibble. I think she had been fed only tinned before I gradually changed her diet. Still doesnt like kibble I've tried several different ones but will eat chicken necks, wings, bones, meat and a little rice and veggies. I think you're right its a skin issue though as it seems to be 'all over' Is there anything (like food or a supplement) I could try?
  13. HugUrPup I dont think its anal glands or ears unfortunately I think its skin. My last dog had skin problems her whole life and I tried so many different things. She didnt smell though Is it a skin infection your girl needs antibiotics for?
  14. just wondering if you use the cologne because your dog stinks?? Gemma is a very very smelly dog. She starts to smell day or so after a bath. My whole house is now Odour De Gem!! I've never known a dog to be this bad. I have never used cologne though. Does it mask the doggie smell? She gets a bit itchy in summer would it make it worse do you think?
