  1. SnoPaws you make me laugh... If you had asked I would of told you there were 54 dogs in total. I know you are trying to belittle Dannkia taking out all 3 best in shows, but I actually dont care! She is not even 12 months, is sitting on 98 CC points with 4 RU BIG and many class in group/show awards at all breeds champ shows not to meantion a RU BIS at an Open show (the GS judge was a All Breeds judge too), I dont show every week and as you are aware I work sundays so I am proud of her achievements to date. Yep it might of been only a small competition but it was a fun night, gives the trainer judges a chance to go over dogs and gives the dogs a run and yes I was proud the three judges picked Dannika as their Best in Show winner. PS. I did delete the post you put on my facebook, if you dont have anything nice to say - don't say it at all
  2. I am in too I think it was a fabulous idea by Vic Dog last year and will again participate I love that I was able to enter my girl who I lost late 2009 along with my current dogs. I have already let people know it is coming via Facebook, and as soon as we can enter will let all my friends across the world know. ~ Thinking of everyone in Queensland and their animals xoxo ~

Kennel or family samoyeds Both can be very successful in the showring Family Samoyeds or pets are part of the family first and foremost which I personaly think is important :D

When you say now 8 weeks? have you had the puppy before 8 weeks? Samoyed puppies are super cute, the best thing is when they get older they are just as cute

I don't agree. A friend of mine was told the same thing by her breeder and ended up getting a boy, she is so amazed by my girl and her love and loyalty to me because the breeder told her boys are the more loving ones, she has had to really work with her boy to build the bond. We have only ever had a maximum of 5 Samoyeds and we are a family of 4 (I have 2 ), but my point is the more time you spend with your Samoyed (male or female) the stronger the bond is. Temperament is important though and yes it can differ from puppy to puppy, and this is not dependant on sex. As puppies you can tell the very outgoing ones from the more relaxed. But in saying that my girl Shimmer loves playing fetch, do herding, agility or showing, but would be just as happy to cuddle all day in bed. She is most happy when we are doing something together, and if she wants a cuddle she just leaps into my arms . During the day she is at home and completely happy. Sonnet my boy well he is going through the "Junior stage" - stuble and disobedient at tims but loves cuddles but loves to play. Shimmer has been easier to train, but that also comes back to "time". I had a little more time to train her. Our other kids Coco (girl) is very relaxed and obedient without any proper training, Inka (boy) is very responsive when you want to teach him something and Monet (girl) is the most lovable girl who just wants cuddles, and would love them all day. They all love cuddles, and are very spoilt family members. In my opinion I think sometimes the difference is "kennel dogs" Vs "family dogs" rather than male Vs Female. Family dogs are around people more and develop a love and bond that is unique. It is in my opinion that family dogs have a lot more personality and are often better socialised and this is also passed onto puppies. I definitely notice the difference of "Kennel" dogs and "family" Samoyeds in the show ring. People in other breeds may except aggression but Samoyeds should not show agression towards any human! Our standard states The Samoyed is intelligent, alert, full of action but above all displaying affection towards all mankind. This comes from their breed history, they would work all day and keep the children warm at night. My Sammys live with 2 cats and a rabbit. If samoyeds are brought up with animals they are generally very good with them. My bunny has attitude and my dogs love her, but I wouldn't allow a Samoyed outside my home near her as they would be used to a Bunny. I am sure a Sammy would be fine with a JP as a friend, JP can be a little bit of a jealous breed so you might want to check the JP will love a Sammy. Bindi on DOL has a Sammy & a Pug and they are great together. Samoyeds really are fabulous dogs, cookiez if you are really considering getting a Samoyed in the future I would recomend you talk to a couple of breeders, get to meet their dogs, see the temperments. Some people think dogs that wins heaps are the best dogs, this is not always the case. I am sure if you decide to welcome a Samoyed into your home you will wonder why you haven't done it sooner, they really are amazing ETA - due to grammer
  6. I have friends overseas that also wish to donate, is a pay pal account likey to be set up? or it is already can someone please share the details ~ Thinking of everyone & their animals in Queensland ~
  7. I haven't received my number yet, but with Australia Post only working 2 days this week I'm not surprised, there maybe a long line at the Secretaries office at the start of the show. Best of Luck everyone and a hope you have a fabulous NYE
  8. I agree, show training away from home, as your home is a safe environment that is her confort zone. Make it positive, fun and a happy experience (but not over the top). Only short training sessions are important you dont want to bore her. Tell the judge she is lacking confidence and I am sure the judge will approach is a confident but calm manner that will assist her. I would get someone that is calm, but confident to handle her, if that is you great but it need to be positive (no nerves), pat her heaps and say good girl. As a young girl persist but if she really doesn't enjoy it, you wont either. I would try for a few months as they do go through stages, but unfortunately you may not end up showing her. I am a strong believer in doing activities both you and the dog enjoy Best of luck

Poor baby We don't clip or shave our because they are show dogs, instead we give them ice water, leave wet towels down on hot summer days and make sure they have plenty of shade. I do understand you not wanting to put him through the grooming, keep in mind Samoyeds that are shaven are subject to getting sunburnt, so this is something you will need to watch. The Samoyed coat actually protect them from the sun as they have sliver tips that reflect the sun and being white helps too. You can purchase cool coats which also keep them cool. (http://www.coolingvests.com.au/) How old is he?
  10. Samoyeds have the biggest entry in group 6
  11. I just want to say a BIG thank you to the committee for putting on such a fabulous show. I was told it was a great show and I wasn't let down one bit. Such a community spirit & great atmosphere. So glad the sun was shinning all weekend My girl Shimmer (Aust Ch Airebis Kissed By Moonlite HIC) went Best in Group Saturday and Runner Up Best in Group Sunday and I was thrilled
  12. I am sure dispite the weather it will be a great show, I know a few have said it maybe cancelled but I think if grong grong is cancelled they should be as it is raining everywhere.... and last time I checked Dec was meant to be the start of summer

I tried to reply via PM but your inbox is full! Just out of curiosity, did you get Fletcher from Kalaska Samoyeds? he looks so much like my Zac that I would bet that Fletchers dad was Alex!!! Bindi has been super busy so I thought I would reply Fletcher is not from Kalaska and Alex is not in his pedigree at all. (He has Snerzok, Mezen, Airebis, Aldonza & Overseas dogs in his pedigree, Alex's pedigree is one side all overseas and the Dam side is oz, so there maybe a couple of dogs behind there from simular line (depends on who your Zac Dam is ) Fletcher sire is Mezen Jedi Knight "Lucus" he is currently in New Zealand. His Dam is Snerzok Chase The Wind "Miriah" I sure you have lots of fun with your Samoyed, they are fabulous dogs with wonderful happy outgoing personalities

Wire creates are very simular, I have 3 a giant one and 2 normal sized ones. Make sure you lock the top and the bottom of the crate because they can push through and hurt themselves in they are determined enough. I think the look of the first link. Samoyeds are great dogs and I am sure you will create many wonderful memories together Best of Luck
