I hav been a groomer for the last 10 years and have done many poodle trims the teddy bear cut is great and I love doing it but I love doing any trip on poodle as long a I scissor them .cliping thier bodies for some dog is more practical spiecal if they like to swim in summer

I still have some more poems 2 share when I get more time post them soon thanks for pinning these poems I think its important to save these poems I found them on a Cannadian sight many years ago and I dedicate them to my lost babies. Lassie , Max , Abbie , Moi , Molly , Mitzy and Becky .I miss all my babies so much and know all my angels are playing at the Rainbow Bridge watching over me looking forward to meet me again, when I have to go I want to stay at the Rainbow Bridge with all the aniamls.That would be my heaven.

A "GOLDEN" GOOD-BYE

I sit and try to write the wpords, I want your heart to hear.

Hoping to find some comfort, in the fact that your not here.

I look out into the open field, that you once occupied,

Knowing now that field is empty, because my love, you've died.

I do believe with all my heart, that your soul has gone to be,

Wuth all the other angel dogs, that you were meant to see.

We will have to stay behind, until god calls us too

So do not be afraid, that he's only called for you.

The water is stil, in the pond that you played,

And your bed is empty, where your pretty head laid.

Our bed is empty, where you once laid between,

the two people who LOVED you and now only dream,

that one day our eyes will shut one last time,

and you will come to greet us, angel of mine.

Until then, I'll kepp trying to see through the tears,

with memories you left us, to reflect through the years.

We'll never forget one minute we spent,

of loving and laughing, the places we went.

And I dread the day that your sent disappears,

for it's "proof" to me,Shockie, that you were just here!

Hello, I've been expecting you for quite some time.

Here,come sit beside us for awhile,

and let me tell you about this old friend of mine.

She might look tattered or maybe old

But I won't say goodbye until you've been told.

She had the brightest eyes I had ever seen,

And wore a beautiful fur coat that would out shine a queen.

She was never prissy but walked with an aire...

And so polite, you could take her almost anywhere.

She could run like the wind and could catch anything she chased,

But she protected and sat with me when I had problems to face.

You could not find a friend nearly so dear.

Because no matter the troble she always stayed near...

She never asked me for much,

Just to love and respect her and I'll think you'll agree.

To give her a good meal plus a nice warm bed is not much to ask,

When she has given me all her love and to her this was no task

Now I understand you have a schedule to keep.

But I have a small favor befor she nods off to sleep.

Please fold your wings around her and let her feel young while in no pain.

One of my regulars normaly comes 2 weekly missed 1 vist we it came he body was come pleatly matted she refused to have him cliped and said she would do it her self a week later she brought him back said she had gotten most of it out .she didn't she said your cant clip him it would be crawel I told her if I left it it would be crawel long story short his legs I got out body I used 7 5 and 4 look ok owners where happy

The problem is they bye these oodles and beleave they don't lose hair and often bye the from pet shops or people the know nothing about grooming coats people that have jumped on the "disner" band wagon and don't inform them of the health and welfare of these dogs,and they have to learn the had way and as we know some of the never learn.

I have more if anyone is interested.

we get so attacted because they never jugde us unconditional love and if it wasn't for them we wouldn't know how specail we are for we had the luck to know them.Dogs have the bigest hearts in the world thats why we only get such a short time with them thier heart only beats for you and the happieness they brought you, and inturn gave to them.

I have shih tzu's and three off my dogs have suffered with hot spots I'ld trim the hair around as short as posible and dab it with proxside(4 on human saws)it would dry them up great.although they will leave a bald spot after they have cleared, and some times the hair grows back darker.

remember dogs don't know they have had one so it dose bother them to much when it happens cuddle them close so they are safe talk kindly and watch there toung they don't swollow it normal but just what out for it .my nans dogs was diagnose with epolepsy at a verry young age she is now 14 some times they have had to change the dose ....low sugar can cause them sometimes to even if they r not dietbetic if there has been no other explaination if your dog is a fuss eater and hasn't eaten much and has been very active it could burn thier sugar levels up.ucould try mixing somesugar water and suring a small amount down there throut to bost the levels. malt seem to get sceizers also (still think they r a good breed) but been a dog groomer it seems to be more comon in malts then other breeds

shih tzu' snore all the time they r fine they don't have any breavin' problems i snore to and i'm fine should i see a vet alsoZ?Z ha ha ha

Kay I don't think you could pass it on, but its an airborne illness so seperating them would help, but wont gaurantee (sp?) your dogs catching it.

When I took mine to the vet, they put the dogs in isolation do lower the risks.

Are all your dogs vacc with C5? C3 doesnt cover KC, as I found out :D if vacc against it, they can still catch it, but wont get a full blown dose of it.

Best to get her checked out from the vets

it is a viral dissease like any other diseases we can carry it (chicken pox ,colds) some r catches some r spreeders like colds in people it will strike some people worse than others we(2 feet or 4feet) all have different imunity .i think most poeple will understand that. and if they r vacc. they can still get it just like chicken pox ,measels ,mumps ect,. it just may lesser the case.if you work with alot of dogs the first thing u learn is if a dog coughs susspectlly is to isolate sterolize and send it home asap so u don't infect other aniamls.unfortunetly dogs from the pound can contract it easily if one dog has it the hole kennel is at risk.they could get it for someone walking the dog bye the house.it seems to come out in plage proportion it want be around for months than it can run riot i think it is a good idea to let people know it's out there so we r alittle bit more carful with our pets when it comes out. it is a very comon thing but you can't help feeling so sorry 4 our poor little 1s, it is not a nices thing to have.and you have to be more careful with or old babbies and very young ones. good luck with all the coughs I hope they all feel better soon. and if you r worried consult the vet better be salf then sorry with our babes.....Chelle and the kids.....

low sugar can cause it too. ask the vet to check for that! some dogs can suffer diebetes at later ages.exspceily if they have always been alittle over wieght.

thats great not many people relize how important feet r .with black nails if u look underneth the nail u can see a diferance in the nail cut befor the solid part and they won't bleed the more often they get cut the shorter they will grow. in some breeds thow they make them bleed on perpose because they r unatracktive (ect poodels). sounds cruel I know but if u cut into the quick, the quick will be shorter.(I could not do it onperpose thow) please forgive my speelling I can't do it to save my life but i know dogs better then any thing they r my life and i have been showing since i was 7 now 25 I always lisend 2 alot of people and have picked up alot and found things that have worked for me and people more experianced. i have always been able to get the worst dogs nails cut just cause it has to be done like it or not. just like a child it's 4 thier own good like it or lump it. got to be done hate it or not, it's for thier own good . persitance is the best remidy,.

yes can spread very easily rember wash hand and glen twenty will kill any germs around.good way to tell if it is kennel cough is to gently press on thier toung this will make the cough if it is .it sounds a bit like hopping cough does in kids.they will need antibiotics ,I sugest to ring the vet first I you think it might be an see if he will come to the car to see the dog so they don't end up infecting other dogs.can be fataul in young puppies and older dogs or in dogs with a bad illness.so see the vet!!!!!

I have been a dog groomer for sometime and alot of dogs don't like the preasure on the nails I'ld also recomeand that when she is resting for a pat, play with her feet every night so she learns that having her feet touch if a good thing. :D not only to learn that it doesn't always hurt when you touch them . this is not only important just to dog thier nails but to have inbetween thier toes and pads check for grass seads, ticks ect.if the dog has no back problems try having someone hold her on a lead to comfort her and keep her distracted ,and do it like u r shoeing a horse sometimes what they can't see don't hurt. that way seemed to work good for me and the dogs can't fight you as hard. and sorry most dogs only need to get 1bleeding nail and they never forget. good luck

also if they do bleed try condies crystles it does hurt a little bit but stops the bleeding quicker then any thing else I have tried just a few crystles on the tip of your finger and count to 10.it quaterizes it shut you can get it from the chemist. falling that if your stuck cigeret ash will work to.

MY FATHERINLAWS DO WILL BITE YOUJUST FOR THINK ON IT.

I WOULD USCUT A FEW SLICES OF CHESSE MELT THEM IN MICROWAVE (JUST SO IT IS JUST SOFT) WRAP THE TABLET WITH CHEESE PUT IT INTO THE FRIDGE TO SET ..START GIVING AFEW WITH OUT TABLET, THEN THE CHEESE TABLET THEN ANOTHER PIECE OF CHEESE(JUST SO THEY DON'T CATCH ON THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING IN IT) AND OF COURSE LOTS OF PRAISE IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE DOGS GIVE THEM SOME CHEESE TOO SO THEY THINK THEY ARE ALL GETTING A TREAT.

OR CRUSH IT UP AND MIX WITH A TABLE SPOON OF CHOCOLATE CUSTARD .... GOOD LUCK
