  1. I use Homeopathy Remedies for KC & they work in a few days, much better than any vet medications & much cheaper!

I'm so impressed with the Homeopathy I don't use C5 vac's any more

Was this advice from your vet (i.e. that there is an outbreak)?
My 2 girls get their C5,which is suppose to protect them again, KENNEL COUGH,PARVOVIRUS,DISTEMPER,but their is NO GUARANTEE, your dog can still pickup these viruses.

There are many strains of KC so while the vax may cover some of the strains, it can't cover them all.

  2. All our girls have relaxin test at 21 days. Our vet tell us after this amount of time it can be not so accurate.

2 frozen AIs and both ultrsounded at 4 weeks both pregnant. One has since whelped and the other girl is due around the 20th of December

    :o Congratulations Firestone!

I had a x-ray on 1 of my bitches yesterday (she was day 46) & unfortunally nothing there :)

I'm presuming the other bitch is the same ;)

Next time I'll have x-rays to confirm pregnancy.....our vets aren't that good with their ultrasounds! :)

  3. I've had 2 AI's on 2 bitches & had an ultrasound & Relaxin blood test to confirm that both bitches aren't pregnant!

What I want to know is how accurate is the blood test???

I'm organising a 3rd bitch to have a natural mating but I still think that my other bitches might?? be pregnant & don't want the possibility of 3 litters

  4. One of my girls had pancreatitis last year and is now on a very low fat diet (and also on a special renal diet now). I haven't been giving her bones but yesterday her visiting vet said to give low fat bones. He suggested I got marrow bones cut length ways and scooped the marrow out. A lot of butchers don't seem to like to cut them like this so I will have to find one who will. I also wonder if anyone can suggest what other sort of bones might be low in fat.

ETA I also have the issue; being Labradors both my dogs eat like it is their last ever meal so with bones I have to be careful what I give them as they will swallow things whole :crossfingers:

I get Chuck bones from my butcher for my fat dogs, they have no fat at all & take quite a while to chew!

  5. Hey

Geraldton has the best facilities for a country club & runs well organised shows

You should try out our good old country hospitality sometime

Hey, there is no doubt about well run shows... just not driving 5 hours for nothing!!!

Although last time it was advertised as sashes for BIG/RUIG at the open show.... and they werent handed out, as they had run out - i was dissapointed as my boy got BIG!!!

:( I was my fault that we didn't get the Group ribbons up in time but all the group winners were told that if they wanted their ribbons that we would post them!!!..............all you had to do was write down your name & address

I'll get one for you if you still want it???

  6. Hello, another Perthie

Amypie, I dont bother with the Geraldton / Bunbury only open shows... its a long way to travel for no points.

I am doing Albany this weekend :) and then again in Feb... Albany is one of the best shows in the show calendar, its so laid back and relaxing!!! I love it. Albany is about a 4.5 hour drive from Southern River.

Am doing Wanneroo, but we are at the K9 on Friday night, so depending if we get through, I may be there on the sat...

Im pretty much entered in everything up until the end of the year!

    Hey :)

  7. This is the info I have on the PHUDS

Phuds, All Dogs Essence For Life

Food suitable for all dogs on a daily basis

    Wholesome and unprocessed.

Contains: Stone ground grains oats and barley, polenta, buck seed, psyllium husk, coconut, vegetables, lentils, linseed meal, kelp, calcium, rosehip herb, garlic, dandelion root herb.

Unique modern food designed to be mixed with water and meat (fresh, cooked or

    canned).

With the over use of preservatives and flavour enhancers that are added to pet

food today, Phuds offers a real alternative low allergy, packed with absorbable

natural nutrients and a great high fibre source.

Phuds’ provides the answer pet owners are desperately seeking out !!!

Phuds: high fibre – supports detoxification of the body, liver and kidney function

    reduces offensive body odour

contains herbs that offer natural vitamins and minerals

    aids movement and flexibility

builds on assisting immunity to guard against fleas and pests

enhances rich lush coat and improves skin health

Basically a 25 kilo dog requires 1 cup mixed with around 11/2 cups of

boiling water and 2 cups of fresh meat.

I've used it & found it very good but it is hard to get hold of here in Geraldton WA

  8. How are you and Sophie going today, CavnRot? :)

We're doing well thanks Kaz. Sophie has picked up in the last day or so. No more nausea so she's back to her normal, happy self.

    That's Great to hear :)

Don't forget to look after yourself, though :)

  9. Sophie's liver test results are in and they show an improvement, much to the amazement of the oncologist. She will do another liver test next visit and see the next results before booking the ultrasound.

Sophie's a bit bored too Staffyluv. Like you, I'm not going to risk walking her either.

    THAT'S EXCELLENT NEWS!!!!!

  10. Just an update, This puppy is still getting stronger everyday. She doesn't tilt her head, she has massage a couple fo times a day and once when I was doing this there was this definite loud pop, her neck has been straight ever since. She does have a weakness on her left rear leg but he right one is stronger. I would love to get to a specialist as I think she has had an injury. Sadly out here we have little vet care.

Take her to a chiropractor !

They aren't expensive, mine cost $40.00, well worth it!!!

  11. CavNrott, I'm sorry to hear Sophie's tumor is still growing :mad

I think you can let her be a little naughty, it shows she still has plenty of spirit :banghead:

ZednQ, I hope Zed is still keeping his spirit up !

Wolfgirl, glad to hear Pearl has some improvement :whip: hoping she will keep it up!

  12. I have raised my Rottie pups on VaN and Barf, they look fantastic. I also know of a GSD breeder who is on her 7th generation litter on raw diet, last few years on VaN.

I have a friend who is weaning her Rottie pups on this too.

    I'm using VAN on all of my dogs 4mth & 13mth old on Puppy & 3, 4 & 5 yr old on Adult :)

The youngest was weaned on it & the 13mth was put on it the day she arrived!

    Fantastic stuff
