  1. Only my GSD did this, I think maybe it was because of her thicker coat (other dogs at the time were a Doberman and Cocker Spaniel). Afraid I don't have a solution; I just kept topping up her water! The bowl was outside, on the grass, so no clean-up required! Rooster78, my current pup does this too! Except she runs away without digging the water out of the plastic container, lol. This way she leaves a trail of water.
  2. I haven't personally tried this, but aparently vinegar works well. Just put some white vinegar on over the stain and it up with the urine. If it's a fresh accident, you could also throw some bi-carb soda on the top of it to absorb the smell. A carpet layer one recommended this solution: equal parts white vinegar, woolmix and salt. Shake well and spray or sponge on to stains. If all else fails, Biozet is recommended by most cat owners. You only need a small amount mixed with cold water and just dab the area and allow to dry. Hope that helps!
  3. Hi kitcat! I found with my puppy that she didn't want the toys I bought specifically for her, lol. I bought her a Kong and she has absolutely no interest in it. Apparently an ice cube or bit of carrot is more interesting, oh and our feet. I got her a rope toy for about $3 at the reject shop which she loves. That doesn't really come apart... Tennis balls might be another option. Her favourite toy is one I made - plastic bottle with a little bit of her dog kibble inside. It's a softer plastic (I was worried the Coke bottles would be too sharp on her gums). It was originally a soybean drink bottle from an asian store. Also, soft toys , just make sure buttons etc have been removed in case she does it herself and ends up eating it.
  4. LOL about Maxiewolf's pup! I use a water pistol too when I can watch her, but I found that she would sneak off when I was distracted and chew on things she's not meant to. I managed to solve this by using a multipurpose cleaner/disinfectant that I had lying around. It's a Citrus Fresh one so I would assume it has citronella in it. I sprayed that onto whatever she was likely to chew and haven't had a problem since. SHe doesn't like the smell and she bit into a sprayed item once and was put off. The spray was for cleaning my kitchen benchtops, so I doubt it would be toxic and I got it from Aldi, cost less than $2. The sprays I was looking at in the pet stores were ridiculously priced.
  5. Good to know that you've found a replacement for your poor hands! lol. I have a pup as well and was wondering when the 'right' age would be to introduce her to bones. She's 10 weeks old now and all she's eating at the moment is dry dog food (Innova) and occassionally I give her a bit of a carrot for a treat. I don't suppose her little teeth could handle a bone now?
