  1. I think they're all pretty useless and make you jump through hoops god help if you don't have your dogs full history they will try claim 'pre existing'.

Thankfully mine paid for accident $7000 worth but illness isn't worth all the bullshit they try pull

I didn't have my dogs first three years vet history and it made no difference. Claim was successful. No questions asked and very simple . It was a cancer claim though.

  2. Swazzie, so very sorry to read this - there are fabulous Oncologists at BVSC at Albany Creek. They have a surgical, medical and radiation team. They are truly lovely and it would be worth speaking to them. They treated our girl for a different type of cancer earlier this year.

Depends who you see. I spent over $7000 simply on tests ( over three visits ) and the specialist i was dealing with was away the week my boys condition went downhill. I took him back there to be checked by another specialist, but he couldn't be saved.

I never even received a phone call from the specialist i was dealing with for the previous three visits. Obviously when he returned and was updated, he simply moved onto his next patient. No compassion that's for sure.

The local vet however was fantastic. I received a nice phone message and a very nice card from her and the whole team.

  3. I support Oscars Law and all it stands for.

Does that include allegedly mowing someone down with their car after breaking and entering a property to trespass?

    Allegedly ?

Who mowed down who ? Where did this allegedly happen ? any facts or links to share ?

Or is this another Facebook claim ?

Pretty easy to google it. Took me three seconds to find it in The Age.

Would've taken three seconds to add it to your post.

  5. RL was quoting rossetta, who assumed that the info was true.

Just because someone doesn't believe everything posted on FB, or believes that some people in the RSPCA do good work doesn't make them apologists for the whole organization.

    Exactly who I was quoting.

"rossetta" was quick to jump in with the bloody disgusting RSPCA comment without any evidence or proof that this dog was PTS or even exists.

I know someone involved in a legal capacity at the Ipswich RSPCA and you couldn't find a more dedicated to animal causes person anywhere..so I guess as an organisation it has its detractors, but at grass roots there are some people with hearts definitely in the right place.

That's my problem. Too many people on this forum jump onto the RSPCA hate wagon and blanket the whole Org.

  6. Happened in Victoria, according to my source. Vic RSPCA.

Can you link to the source with some information? A picture on FB doesn't scream legit to me.

I have nothing else, which is why I am asking.

The blurb said he was the face of the million paws walk, failed the temperament, because he turned his head away when they wanted to look at his teeth - not bit, just turned his head, and then he got the chop.

Bloody disgusting :mad I am surprised any dogs meet all the criteria that satisfies the RSPCA.

So you know this dog in question has been PTS ? or just jumping on the RSPCA hate wagon as usual ?

  7. It seems a waste of an guide dog, however as the owner of an animal, you have every right to request it be PTS.

Maybe, but it still doesn't make it right. Should not be the owners right IMO. This dog could've found another owner in need of an assistance dog. Selfish owner.

  8. If you don't have any luck with the vet you're trying tomorrow, let me know.

It has taken me 8 years to find a vet who can handle my large, problem Rottweiler without any sedation or anesthesia. Every other vet ( male and female ) i have taken my dog to has had him sedated or put under anesthesia. I can't speak highly enough of this vets

handling of large problem dogs. She has had an enormous amount of experience handling Rottweilers in South Africa and it shows.

She is on the northside of Brisbane.
