  1. Our staffy has a recurrent ear infection seems like ear mites again  we have swabbed it with water and administered Dermotic ear and skin infection 5mls as per vet advice ) any other ideas as we are quite low and won't have enough to last for the next 10 days to treat  thanks

Seems like staffy's tend to get infections quite a bit in summer up here in QLD which recently has been damp and hot.

  2. We are on petplan, www.petplan.com.au at $28.50 per month ( 1 month free )

Covers $8,000 vet fees. Excess $100.00 per claim / $500.00 per calender year kennell fees and Advertising and reward $500.00.

A lot of T&C's in the fine print :-( Even says that they have a right to decline in paying anyone else has a better plan? seems most are similar / or like comparing pears and apples?? quite confusing.

  3. Sorry to hear about your pups behaviour. Our puppy is about 9 weeks now who is a Staffy purebred. He does mouth and nip sometimes only when playing though has only growled once when I took away his food bowl and patted him..

SInce then he has not growled at all when I have patted, taken his food bowl away on meal times to get him used to this in case our kids ( 4 + 8 yrs ) do this and to eliminate a chance of them getting bitten. Only once was my 8 year old nipped when he took away a doggy treat from him which immediatly our pup realised this and stopped and showed signs of non-dominent behaviour ( wanted a tummy rub )

I guess you can take him to training to help this kind of behaviour, though I would steer away from Bark-busters as our last dog got too stressed from this kind of training for some reason and turned agressive ???
