  1. The more I think about this, the crankier it makes me. How are people supposed to convince the general public that buying from a purebred breeders is safer & better than buying from a BYB when some registered breeders neither test their breeding stock for genetic disease, nor offer a health guarantee against genetic disease?

Sorry to hijack your thread a little, just wanted to express my crankiness at your situation. :)

Me too, I was listening to a fellow breeder talking to a potential puppy buyer when the buyer enquired about health testing, "oh the vet does that when they're vaccinated" was the reply.

Guess what, that puppy buyer went elsewhere to a breeder that did health test because they had done the research.

  2. And what a good luck charm she turned out to be too!

    Hounder has a HUGE brag!!

I've got a little one.....Roger had his first show in Minor. 6 months on the day and he won Minor In Group.

He may have been guilty of making the "big kids" sweat a tad too.......our judge really, REALLY seemed to like him and spent a very, very long time considering him and the Open for Dog CC. That was a thrill on its own!

    Well done Woger!

  3. Maybe we should fly some sort of DOL flag at Combined Breeds and really make a party of it!

 Like you need to fly a flag.....it's normally possible to hear Mrs Rajacadoo-doo-doo and I long before we are visible! ;)

Editing to add: Or just listen out for people yelling "WOGER!!!!" at wingside....that helps too! ;)

May be we could have a war cry instead of a flag!

    WOGERRR!

    :o :p :p

  4. I thinks we must say well done to the Western Tiers.
It was truly a great weekend  Maxbox did you let the pub know that you weren't happy with your meals? I most certainly would have as I know they would have welcomed the feedback.

I think the problem with the meal was they didn't realise so many people would be about and didn't have enough staff in the kitchen. (Not only was there a dog show, but Rodeo people about for that as well) They didn't really seem interested in feedback, too busy.

  5. I thinks we must say well done to the Western Tiers committee   What a great job they did with this HUGE event.

We spent the whole weekend camping, had a great time socialising and a great time showing!

We did have some success, Puppy in Group with the Dobe on Tuesday.

The only downer for the weekend was the meal we had at the pub,it was terrible.
