  1. Am very happy with both my boys after the obedience mock trial this morning.

As Ness said was Riv's first time in a UD ring and putting exercises together and he did a great job for a first attempt although did have some interesting moments like deciding to sit in the box on the finish for the gloves ;)

Zuma also had his first time in the ring for CCD and super happy with him as well.

They both need a bit more work and I know it's a massive jump from a mock trial to a real one but today was a great start especially since I've been doing a lot of training on my own but think it might be time to join a club now!

  2. I'm completely uneducated when it comes to dogs & planes, flying and all that. I found some info on the virgin airlines site, but I'm still a bit in the dark.

People who have flown their dogs (with or without you), what airline did you go through? What sort of crate do you use? Did you hire or use your own? I'm interested in any info

I've flown my guys with Virgin - the guys at Adelaide airport are fantastic ;) I've hired a crate once (is pretty expensive though) but now have my own for both of them - a PP40 from Toll for Riv and a Vari crate for Zuma.

  3. How much warming up does everybody do before going into the ring???

I do nothing at all with Riv but do prefer being able to have a little bit of time before we go in as he seems to prefer to know what's going on around him a bit first rather than being rushed straight into the ring from his crate.

  4. Yes, thanks guys, that is what I meant by the mood changes - mine. I go all serious and take away the fun, so I am going to make an effort to train in the ring like I do out of it!

I know it's easier said than done RubyStar but if you can manage to do this it really works - think it has made a world of difference to Riv's attitude in the trial ring the last couple of times we've done obedience
