  1. We have just started selling it in our Clinic and are yet to get feed back on it. The flea controll is the same as comfortis, so is fast acting and effective. The internal parasite controll apparently only targets one life stage of the worms (unlike Advocate which does all the life stages - as kindly pointed out by the Bayer Rep) Panoramis also does not cover Tapeworm, so ideally this should also be done every 3 months still.

This amazing food used to only be available through a certain chain of pet stores until it was recently brought out by P&G. Should be more widely available now or soon - just hope P&G don't change the quality of the food.

Ah this is more like what I was looking for - I particularly like the look of the Herring & Salmon Formula. BW do you know where it is available presently?

Unfortunately I know Pets Paradise, Pet Goods Direct & Pets R Fun stock the food (Paradise Retail Holdings group) unfortunately they also sell livestock. Hopefully it you will see it rolled out in many more non-livestock-selling retailers. If you email them, the company should be able to tell you who else is starting to stock it. It really is a great food - I have been to the old manfacturing plant & testing facilities in Nebraska and it was incredible !! I just hope P&G keep the brands integrity.

Thanks Bow Wowy - naturally would prefer not to support puppy retail stores. Saw Husky and Lab pups in the windows for sale the other day:( Don't know why I look it always upsets me. Who is P&G?

    Proctor & Gamble

  4. Animal Industries Resource Centre runs the Provet courses and I can vouch for them as being extremely professional and supportive. I enrolled two years ago and was steaming through my studies. I completed a 6 month course in 6 weeks and was well ahead in my Cert IV Companion Animal Studies when i got very ill and was unable to do my course work. They were very understanding and supportive and I am now back in to trying to complete the remaining two subjects. Provided you keep them advised of where you are at with your study and any difficulties you are having, they will provide you with any and all support they can.

I can vouch for AIRC also as they are who I have done my Cert IV through. They are very thorough and accomodating. They do expect alot from their students in the way of assignments etc (case studies  ), but I beleive you are a better nurse for it.

What kind of practical work do you do through the AIRC course?

When you join you can opt to take part in the study groups. In the study groups sometimes there will be some practical work - like folding drapes, examining a lecturers dog etc. Mostly however it is theory. I would have loved more practical training when I was doing the course and I think that has improved recently.

  6. Curiosity. I had been working in a pet shop for 7 1/2 years when I first heard about DOL and how anti-pet shop they were. I honestly didn't understand why people thought pet shops were so bad, so I decided to check out DOL and see what it was all about. After reading DOL regularly for a few months my whole view on pet shops changed. I began to question everything from where did our puppies "really" come from? to, where do they end up? It really began to disturb me and I began to feel so guilty and dissatisfied with my job that I hated going to work.

Within 15months of joing DOL I got out of the "pet retail" industry and got into vet nursing with a wonderful vet who I love and admire. I have just graduated my Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing and am LOVING my job now!!!

Literally DOL has changed my life.
