  1. I used this stay dry matting see http://www.dogbedsgalore.com.au/product/SM. What I did was buy a Pet Pouffe from the same site which has removable washable covers and then I bought an extra cover. I put the stay dry matting between the bed insert and the cover and this kept the dog bed insert dry and kept the puppy dry if it peed on its bed. In cases of these accidents I just removed the cover and the stay dry matting - washed both and set up the bed in the same way - this was a great stress saver for me our our pup - but especially my husband!

  2. You may also want to visit www.dogbedsgalore.com.au - they have a free download of boredom busters. The lady who runs the site is also a dog trainer and she told me this type of behaviour is often boredom so the boredom busters are a way to redirect the behaviour. We used some of these with our dog and it worked really well. She also has some chewproof dog beds at this link http://www.dogbedsgalore.com.au/chewproof which is how we found her site - we bought the D1000 and it's been great!

  3. A few clients of mine swear by this for fleas and ticks, although even though I have seen their positive results with my own eyes I am still doubtful  I have numerous clients that swear black and blue their tick problem has ceased since using these.

Thanks for the quick response. Your post mentions that they found it effective for ticks - did they mention how well it protects against fleas? Had a look at the webpage and it does mention flea protection however only as a side snipet to their focus on tick control. Thanks.

  4. Does anyone know of an effective natural treatment to protect against fleas? I tried a GreenPet natural food supplement (citrus, garlic, water) however it did not work and both my dogs got absolutely infested with fleas.

Someone told me in the old days they used to just feed the dogs sulfer and never had any problems with fleas but I can't seem to find any info online about this.

The CatanDog disc was also recommended to me however I found this study which basically validated it's ineffectiveness http://tinyurl.com/2xq24h

Can find lots of 'natural' products on offer online however was hoping someone had tried some natural treatment personally and found it effective.

We live near the beach so our block of land is basically sand which I believe makes flea control even more difficult.

Have been using Advantix which is effective however finding my pups reacting badly to it.

    Thanks
