i dunno guys, i think at this stage i wouldnt say it cals fro drastic or profssional help, as i said wit with your dog and your bf and be with both of them together and show raf that your bf is OK and is a friend and also that raf still maintains the same position in the house as he does now, (id say he feels threatend by the BF...another male in the house) it may take time but i personally think thats a better way to go then drastic measure's, but hey i im wrong and it dosnt work (it will take days if not a week) then by all means imo i dont opject to crate training etc, but maybe try small less drastic things first

I saw the same litter in the same shop - well so I'm assuming, otherwise that's a pretty big coincidence! I loved the little fella with the brindle/black patch on his eye...CUTE AS! They were all adorable, poor things being in there. Right next to Kelpie X Border Collies who were "On Special!!! Ask Inside!!!"
yea! pet's paradise TTP?
i was staring at the same little guy for like (what felt like) 30mins, he was the one i liked the look of! hows that ey, amazing coinsidence, liked the same dog too haha

:S
my dog hates the hose (water in general) so what i do is sit him next ot me and pat him while i turn on the hose and water the lawn (sitting down with him) he stays, dusnt like it much but he trust's me, and he will slowly get used to it, maybe try somthing like this, sit with him and your BF and get your bf to pat him while u are too and slowly teach him that your bf is ok. isomthing like that maybe? cause id say he see's him as an intruder and a dog isnt going to like and intruding just because his over all the time, gotta show him that his NOT and intruder his a friend. maybe, i duno just a thought

I think it was more for aesthetics, otherwise wouldn't it be best to crop the entire outer ear off???
um maybe dude, im not 100% its just what i herd and what i read doing a bit of research but im sure theres probebly more than one 'traditional' reason, but what you said would make sence.

N@Dog you can import cropped dogs, what age you can import depending on the country, paperwork, quarentine etc so speak to Customs/AQIS.
Most cropping is done at 8-12 weeks of age when the ear is strong enough to hold the shape (with some help) there is more to cropping then just whacking off an ear. Bit of an art and I dont have an issue with it.
and im taking it a prong is that massive collar thing that red APBT (the one i put up) is wearing? it is quit huge, id never put on on my dogOh there;s nothing wrong with prongs, it just seems to be a fashion to put a hideously oversized one around your pitbulls neck ... first it was truck chains and padlocks now this why do some owners have to be such bogans
yea chocker chain (sorry mental plank on the proper name) are ok, but i think anything else like a prong or padlock is just as you said, Bogan and stupid. lol
cheers for ya help
oh
on mpre question, my mate has owned APBT's in the past and now ownes Amstaff's, he said that if u own a dog with cropped ears itl get taken away (even if it has papers saying its and Amstaff and the cropping was done in USA and was imported in etc) is this true? or is it only illegal to crop here but ya can own a dog with croped ears?
My State: South Australia
Bogan is such a good word really. It just fitslmao it is isnt it.

cool, thanks guys! im not interested in getting one, just intersted in the breed, saw the pet store today had a whole litter (8 of them) thought it was kinda sad really.
-
and another I like to call - 'I gots the sausage!'
haha thats a full on 'i got the sausage, make a break for it, go go go!' picture
lmao, wiked
-
ahh good on ya mate , she's beautifull, best of luck with her.
-
ah k, there may not be then, cause i went to alphabetical list and wasnt there.
are there still some breeders who breed johnson and scott types? or are the Ambull these days a mix and pretty much one dog?
-
Were's the American Bulldog in the Breed's 101 section, was intersted in the breed standard, but i cant find it :S

Hey, few question's i thought of wich a relavant to me in the near future
Can u import a Amstaff pup into australia from America with cropped ears? (with papers and proof of breed and all that, etc)
if so, id say the pup would be in quarantine for a while and id say this isnt good for the pups development?
and, when pups get there ears cropped, at what age is it done?
-
I like cropped ears more then that stupidly oversized prong most pitties wear N@dog If I could own a cropped dog I would, might import
Can ya Import Cropped Amstaff Into Australia? ^o)
at what age (minimum age) can a dog get there ears cropped?
and im taking it a prong is that massive collar thing that red APBT (the one i put up) is wearing? it is quit huge, id never put on on my dog :S
-
nah i dont see kelpie, she's a APBT or Amstaff for sure.
-
omfg, she is BEAUTIFULL! im not an emotional guy (dogs are my soft spot) and that litrelly bought a tear to me eye. RIP beautifull
BSL IS BS!
WE NEED TO GET OFF OUR A$$'s and Do somthing about BSL!!!!! cmon people, i cant stand around anymore and here story's like this and beautifull dogs like this being 'killed' FOR NO REASON! its ridiculious, i personally blame the media, for the stero type they put on APBT's.
WE NEED TO DO SOMTHING!
-
oh as SBT said, Dane's as well, Dobes and Danes Definetly have to have cropped ears for that great tradition look (once again each to there own)
-
is it a APBT or a CC ?
APBT - this is his page: Diablo
yep thats him ;)
I must be a bad person cause I love the look of his ears Not that I would ever do it or condone it, but gosh he is so beautiful and I think his cropped ears just enhance his handsome face. Ohh and gorgeous colour tooi dont mind it, it does look good one some dogs, like doberman pinchners and few others but, if ear cropping were legal here in AUS and i could get it done to my Amstaff (if i had one, this is a hypothetic situation) i probley wouldnt, the history (correct me if im wrong :S ) is they cropped them so other dogs in the fighting ring could not bight them off (causing the dog pain and probley loose) as this is no longer a problem i dont see how there is much pointm other than tradition and show ring reason's, i dont see why people should crop Amstaff and APBT ears, each to there own i guess, BUT some do look gourgeous like this guy, no doubt...... his a stunner!
-
yea i thought so too but only way to really explain what breed it is
yes i love Amstaff (and APBT) ears, and think they look much better with them, unfortunetly most have cropped ears , each to there own i guess.

Washed all fabrics the dog has touched. Use bleach in the warm-wash cycle to kill any Parvo that may be present in any fabric the dog has had contact with. bleached all floors, ceiling, walls inc skirting, doors, hinges, cabinets, cupboards, benchesm bedsm pot plants, chairs etc EVERYTHING that is solid (none fabric) TWICE (the second time with fresh batch of bleach) and used a bleach threw a srpay gun thing u atach to the hose for all the outside and outsiedd walls etc
then we used some kind of dissinfactant mum got form the surgery (sorry cant remember the name and she's in bed) and done the whole house with that again.
we bleached all carpet, then got the carpet steam cleaned. since then we have dissinfected (especialy since we got that new pup of my sisters) every week.
this process took us 3 days, non stop, as we were VERY worried about abrham (our other dog) in wich he stayed at our g paraents house for weeks after.
we have stopped dissinfecting now, since...... 2 weeks ago (i think, ruffley 2 weeks ago anyway), so that a few months of dissinfecting (trsut me it aint fun) i dont know about you gusy, but i cant see how you can get anymore perdantic than that. i think ina few months time and all that im confident a breeder would feel safe in doing so.
-
and?
thats a form of waiting.
and as ive said TOO many times, a few weeks if not MONTHS, how many effin times i gotta say it.
-
After watching one pup suffer and die from Parvo I think its reprehensible that you would consider bringing another pup into the household that may suffer the same fate.
Just because your sisters pup has not contracted parvo yet does not mean that it won't and that your new pup won't also.
You have been given a lot of good advice about the precautions you should take in regards to getting a new pup, what exactly is the problem with waiting?
I feel very sorry for the poor breeder whom you eventually get a pup from if you have to tell them what happened to the pup they bred
i dont have a problem with waiting, if you read what ive been saying as much as everyone else you wil se that i said, in a few weeks if not MONTHS. is that not waiting?
