Our beautiful beagle girl was callously killed in August and we missed her so much we went and brought home a lovely brown lab x (kelpie??) pound dog. Supposed to be 4 yrs old but think he is a bit younger. When we saw him at the pound, he had been "lost" for at least 8 weeks - and was spinning constantly in his cage. This has settled a bit but am confused why he still spins - even in the middle of jumping in the air. He has settled well in his new forever home - am wondering if a companion would be a good idea at this stage (only had him for 3 weeks) or better to leave it for a while. He also chews his toenails which is a bit disconcerting - any ideas on how to stop this?
