  1. Thanks everyone, yes it is for my frenchie boy. Atua that doesnt sound to good. Ill stick to my orignial vet she is a lovely lady and has been great with him so far, Clyde saving starts now! He also has to have surgery for his cherry eye so all up its abit for me atm.

  2. Hi i live in Brisbane on the southside and was just wondering what an 'average' price is for a male desex for a 10 kilo dog. I know that all vets have there own set prices but ive been quoted 195. Can anyone recommend a good vet on the southside that has decent pricing. Thanks

  3. Hi i have had our french bulldog for about 3 weeks and we have him already toilet trained to use his doggy grass loo but he also goes out his doggy door to the grass. I have to admit i didnt really do much he just started using it he now goes straight to it when his doggy door is shut. I just got the cheap one from the warehouse and got extra grass mats from city farmers, i got the large size then cut them in two! Its so easy to clean and i havent had a problem with the grass bit smelling. Its a great idea for when we do leave him inside and im quite surprised at how quickly he took to it.

I now alot of people think they are a waste of money but in our case its worked great and i only paid about 40 for it. What breed are you getting?

  4. thanks maltese11. I have a fench bulldog and his 14 weeks, he has been fine up until today, we got home from visting friends and i saw it. Did you have to do anything to make it go away or it just went on its own? I have to take him to the vets anyway so ill get him checked out while im there.

Im glad your doggie didnt have to have surgery! Im hoping he wont have to.

  5. thats what i thought yellowgirl but she didnt do it. He will be 12 weeks old when he comes here so i have some things im going to start him off on. I will contact willows trainer and see what she says.

Im going to get his hearing test done so at least i know for sure and how deaf he is.

  6. Thanks for your responses, im picking up my french bulldog puppy on the 1st of May and the breeder said that he is showing signs of deafness. He is healthy in every other way so i didnt want to not take him just because he cant hear. I have read up heaps on hand signals and i know it wont be easy. I do have a rough collie that is well trained. Miz J how long did it take for him to learn hand signals?

I was thinking of getting a hearing test done because i spoke to his breeder today and she said he sometimes does look at her when she calls him so i dont know if its partial deafness or not?

  7. Kirst_goldens cute puppy!!!!! Well we are picking up our French bulldog pup on the 1st of May, i was going to get a sheltie but when i saw this little man i just couldnt say no! Ive always loved the frenchies but price was abit to much so Storm is on limited register, but my special little man is deaf! I know it wont be easy but im willing to do all it takes to make sure he has a comfortable life, im learning hand signals to use with him.

Going to Melb for the easter break and then pick him up after we come back, gonna be a long wait!

  8. HI i have a rough collie who is 8 mths old. She is very well behaved and listens to commands. We are looking at getting a playmate for her the same breed. Just a question for anyone that has an older dog and has brought a new puppy into the family did you notice any behaviour changes in your older dog? thanks

  9. The breeder im talking to just has a female thats pregnant so have a wait yet lol i think ill just stick to a girl and hope the breeder can match us up with a pup she thinks will be good in our household. I dont think ill have a problem with WIllow as she gets along with other dogs of the same sex and has never been aggressive or shown jealousy.
