  1. That's so heartbreaking. My wife is still blaming herself for giving one our dogs a piece of cheese and he choked to death. This was about 2 years ago. I think you all did a fantastic job searching. My thoughts & Prayers are with you.

    Run free now little mate.

  2. It's been 3 weeks since we had our Max PTS. We found that Denzil was missing him too much and found a little girl, Prada to join our family. Denzil is 6, but he's gone back to his puppy stage after meeting Prada. All our dog are Shelties.

  3. It is a week today that we said goodbye to you

    beautiful boy

Daddy and I can at least smile now and talk about you

without falling into a heap, but we are still lost without your

presence. We miss your impromtu singing and acting like a wuss

    at the smallest thing.

    Love you Silly Billy

We are feeling the same Bartok.

The knot in our stomachs is easing and we don't fall apart as much when we talk about Max.

There is still that void and I'm sure with time will ease.

  4. Hi Deek, glad to hear you're doing ok bar those moments. (I totally relate!)

I also have a second dog who was not coping so well initially, as having Kuges with her is all she's ever known since puppyhood.

I am trying to act as normally as possible, not make too much fuss of her or spend a lot of time reassuring her. Clicker training is also something positive and fun.

The collie in the link looks like a cutie. How old are your children? It sounds like they won't rehome to a home where there are young children.

    Hi Hortfurball,

I have 2 kids, boy and girl. 16 & 18. So, age shouldn't be a problem and we have a reasonable sized yard. So space isn't a problem either. We're hoping to go and have look at him on Sunday, if he hasn't gone to a new home. We're going to take Denzil with us as well.

  5. Yesterday afternoon we had to put our 14 year old Sheltie, Max to sleep.

Up until Wednesday night Max was quite content. We found out from the vet that he had a very high temperature and his blood tests showed some abnormailities. He was suffering from an infection andmaybe had a tumor in his spleen or liver. We took him home and he is now at rest in our garden.

We got Max when he was 3 months old. A fun loving boy who loved to chase the kids up the stairs, lick my legs after a shower and gave unconditional love.

He will be sadly missed by us and his brother Denzil.

Rest in Peace old mate. Your work here is done.
