Uncle Zombie, are there photos of the dog concerned posted somewhere in the media?

Looking at the images of the dog you can see that it is obviuosly a cross of some kind.

I feel so sorry for the children in this and I hope they recover from this quickly.

However we need to get together and complain to someone on how the media are handling these stories, the journalists are so uneducated when it comes to identifying breeds and are just out to cause more frenzy in the public.

Who knows what breed of dog is going to be blamed next maybe it will be a kelpie cross being called a GSD?

Got graded good. handler errors cost us two downgrades....lol

We did a 3 sided rectangle so my tracklayer was just to the right of our startpost - I recon Milly knew straight away (though at the time I though she was after sheep or roos or something). First downgrade was in not calling her back to the track quick enough and second was in missing her indication of the second corner. I was trying not to break my neck going down the enbankment - what lame excuse huh.

The final verdict from the judge was the dog was good and the handler was a burden, though he didnt say it in so many words and was very kind about it lol - oh well as long as Im better next time then at least Im moving in the right direction.

It was good to see you up there Kirsten - though I was looking forward to meeting Oscar too - maybe another time.

Is anyone going to the Hastings trial or the GSD one?

Im so pleased I finally found a tracking thread....was beginning to wonder...for some reason it never crossed my mind to look in the dog sport section.

I am about to do test one up at Ballarat this weekend and I was doing fine but am now starting to stress. Has anyone got any last minute advice. I am so worried I am going to miss a corner or a sock.

The best advice I can give is just relax. If you have been doing fine up to this point then you should be all good.

On the other hand where abouts are because I am from geelong way and looking for people to track with.

well when my dog becomes fixated on a scent she will not hear me or pay any attention to me even if I shove treats into her face.

I'm thinking of getting into tracking as a way of harnessing her love for sniffing but in a more productive way!

But maybe it doesn't work that way...

Sounds like you might have a tracker ready and waiting. All you need to do is harness that power for good

It looks like all the tracking is happening in SA at the moment and not much here in Victoria I think I am going to have to pack everyone up and go on a road trip :p

y are all so cute. This is Rogue, the new one to the family, aka Zoo She is a 5 month old working line Belgian Malinois who chose me when I puppy sat her at 7 weeks. I think instead of a puppy I got a furry chainsaw because everytime I come home there is nothing but carnage everywhere with a blur of a puppy rushing past. I plan to do a lot of things with her not only to keep her active but also to maintain my sanity. The main thing I would love to do is put her through a Search and Rescue course if I can find one.

I would really like to get into SAR but it doesn't look to good for us in Victoria. I am going to try..................and not give up.

Nothing wrong in sampling the dog treats. How else do you know if the dog is going to like them.

Of course you can join in.........just might be a bit of a drive every time you want to come along

Hey Hey peoples of the tracking interest! Its Nekhbets OH

Well did another training session with the furry chainsaw on meth and she did great. This is the second time out with her and she performed like a champ, two 20 metre tracks with her nose plastered to the ground. Extra wootage on that one. I am really seeing the improvement in her tracking hearing her take big snorts as she goes along.

Rogue is also.............how you say...............Crazy! She has no fear when it comes to climbing on, jump on, running over anything that get in her way.
