  1. Most weeks my two boys are left in the car as OH and I go into our local fruit shop - that said - if it's too hot, they stay home, windows are opened just enough so they cant jump out, they are in the backseat and buckled in. We always keep one eye on them, park in the shade and only in there for 5 minutes. Usually we are coming back from walking them or about to walk them :)

  2. ooh very interesting -

I have 2 - my (4 year old on the 10th  )lhasa apso and my 1 year old dachshund x maltese. We had just one dog for 2 or so years then got Suerti - and they get on well and eat and play together. We looked into getting a 3rd but council says QLD is only allowed 2 dogs per household unless on acerage or breeding... So we've stuck it at 2.

I do home based dog sitting and I honestly thing if we did have a 3rd - they wouldnt get the attention they deserve in my household. Plus we are moving overseas in a couple of years so no point expanding our pack right now

  3. I used to let Itoy just roam (although he never did) in the car - but learning that when they are in the passenger seat and the air bags go off this can kill dogs (and children). He was then put in half a crate teathered into the backseat. Now we have Suerti we use a pet hammock and they are attached to the car headrest backseat always :)

Side note: I love landcruiser mountain park - spent alot of my teenage years there. My uncle does most of the competitions

  4. Hi :)

I would firstly llike to say I am not a breeder - both my boys are castrated and I have no intention on being a breeder - this post is just curiosity.

If there was a bitch with a lovely tempement - then a dog who was lacking with social skills and not such a great temperment and they bred - would this transfer to the pups temperment or is the puppy's tmperment based on their experiences since birth or both?

How important is it that both the bitch and dog have a good temperment?

  5. Both my boys get "human foods". basically what OH and I eat - they eat. for example if we have steak, they have steak, if we have chicken, they have chicken. The only difference is no salt. We eat healthy with minimum oil use (mainly conola spray). We also eat vegetables most days and the boys get lost of those. They are lovely and healthy :) Some people freak out when we tell them - but it works for us :) They also get their own homemade treats using pumpkin, kraft salt and sugar free peanut butter and whole meal flour etc. very healthy and they love it :) :D

  6. personally I wouldnt do it. When my younger sister and her now ex moved in with me - they had custody of itoy while I was working and they took him to the local crazy clarks and tied him up. I was very mad - especially him being a fluffy Lhasa Apso :mad She understood when I explained it to her and she never did it again :)

If you wont leave a kid tied outside - Why would you leave a dog? (Unless of course can see them all the time)

  7. Mine sleep in a pen - they used to sleep on the bed but we were losing sleep and so was the oldest Itoy

They have a pen in our room though. They cuddle on the bed with us until they get tired, then they go in the pen and we open the pen again at about 5am for more bed snuggles :)

  8. I would stay - no question. But then do not have children - more than that though - i think I would try and find a way to escape with them rather than sitting in the house waiting for the inevitable. If I thought there was even the slightest chance beforehand I would leave as early as possible.
