  1. I have a brand new autofill with all the bells and whistles from Perfect Paws at my house if you'd like to come and see it (also have one of the little round ones for small dogs).

We are about 20mins west of Ipswich in a little place called Thagoona.

You (or anyone for that matter) are WELCOME to come and check it out ... in fact I would encourage it ... it's high quality workmanship plus my hubby knows all about it and can show/explain to you everything you'll need to know about the baths.

You can PM me (or email) for our address if you're interested.

    Cheers

    Sharen

  2. You are correct. The fella that started Perfect Paws is the fella who has just run Hydrobaths Australia into the ground.

He brought in a business partner for Perfect Paws - then convinced him to shell out some more $$$ and they BOTH bought Conmurra which was changed to Hydrobaths Australia the day of settlement (how do I know this?? I was physically there)

Perfect Paws is now wholy owned by the business partner who was burnt in the deal and HA is/was the responsibility of ... *the man I am not allowed to name*

Perfect Paws is in great hands, a VERY responsible, ETHICAL, reliable Boarding Kennel Owner (ask Bommy her dogs are there now) who breeds, shows and LOVES their dogs (unlike Mr One Dog wonder) and the new bath they are producing over in WA is freeking fantastic in both quality & innovation.

Please don't let the actions of *he who shall not be named* be held against Perfect Paws as he has nothing to do with the operations of that business and hasn't done for some months now.

  3. Ari - The Administrator is trying to keep the business going as much as possible, but they won't be manufacturing any more hydrobaths, as the materials are too expensive to buy. They had a stand at the PIAA Expo in Melbourne and had a VERY nice, professional-looking set-up there - obviously designed to lure the mugs l(like us) into buying or leasing a new hydrobath. No wonder he was so generous with the "extras" and free freight - he knew he would never have to deliver!

It was the same setup as the one WE did in Brisbane last year .. except I think there fibreglass ramps & that ugly looking, wet dog on the enormous poster ...

Yeah their website looks nice and professional too.

I haven't been to the expo for a couple of years. Last time I went it didn't seem to have many grooming stands.

Website is a template found on the net and some company in WA were doing all the work.

  4. Rang today & actually spoke to the Administrator - very nice, helpful lady. She seemed to think that we could not be forced to go ahead with the lease agreement. as we never signed for the equipment - great relief. Certainly, in the light of day. I think that if the Finance co. paid out for equipment which had not even been manufactured, let alone delivered, it's just bad luck for them.I have written them a letter asking them to cancel the agreement on that ground and have got onto my bank to stop any direct debits in the meantime. She told me there was no money in the bank account and that the former owner would not be playing any part in the future of the company (translation - he's a lying slimeball!). We also paid for a couple of items & she's going to see if they can be sent (if there is stock)

Lying Slimball !! Oh Yeah .... I am so sorry for those who have been caught up (we were actually suppose to be 'friends' with the snake so I feel even stupider - is that such a word? hahahaha)

Fingers crossed you're off the hook with the finance company - I had personally thought that it 'should' be the case - they should be out of pocket not you - but not knowing the legalities of this kind of thing I didn't want to add unfounded opinions.

I think the PIAA Melbourne Trade Expo was a last ditch attempt ....... clearly didn't pay off for them.

  5. Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone one owns or has experience with hydrobaths from Hydrobaths Australia (www.hydrobaths.com.au)?

    Cheers,

    Ishka

Yes I own one and Yes I've dealth with the current owner BUT I am not allowed to give my opinion publicly so good luck with your purchase.

  6. I have just ordered my Hydrobath Australia single tank bath today. I am soooo excited! Following everyone's advice her at DOL and after talking to Marshall at Perfect Paws I have ordered the following:

DW Ultimate, electric rinse facility, dual doors, skirt and wheels, 4 tie points (just covering every possibility LOL), element protection, drain tap and insert table.

Marshall has been very patient with me, explaining the ins and outs of each option, I actually feel like I know what I'm doing now!

So once my hydraulic table turns up and the hydrobath, I just need to make a decision on the dryer and get these kennels built and watch out all SWF's within cooee.

Are you buying your bath from Marshall at Perfect Paws??

    OR

    Jose` from Hydrobaths Australia??

BIG difference... they are NOT the same company or the same baths so don't confuse the 2.

In answer to the OP, it's my opinion that if there is a chance you'd run your bath dry then YES it's worth the extra $$ .... however we've been using our Autofill for just over 6yrs now without protection and have never had the need for it BUT having said that - for some, it is a definate necessity.

  7. We feed our dogs Royal Canin and a few years ago now my OH worked just as a demonstrator for RC and knows the QLD Rep fairly well, he is also very big on his commercial food research so if you visit our website and send a contact email from there it will go to his computer. He won't post here but would be happy to offer advice and help point you in the right directions for further questions you may have.

  8. Hey Kristie

Not sure myself what advice to offer - IF however, it makes you feel any better LeLou is going through what appears to be a similar thing but only started a few days ago - coinciding with some dirty big pig hunting dogs returning to the property next door - they were there for a few weeks and then disappeared - are now back ... bugger (don't know what breed they are but their owners very proudly boast these guys occupation, oh and the owners of the dogs are just staying with our neighbours). She jumps at her own shadow and if one of the other dogs are in trouble we have bucklies of her coming near us but she doesn't sound as upset as Hunta ... Clare however is her normal 500% in your face little girl.

I have emailled a couple of people OS I know with this breed to see if it is something within the breed as we've only ever experienced behaviour like this in a Siberian we once owned who was coming into season. Hamiltons typically don't come into season for the first time till around 12-14mths of age but hey, these 2 girls might be going to make liers of us all??

Could also be that something has spooked her whilst you were not at home??

  9. HH, Perhaps we need to set ourselves up at your place for a grooming session ;)

We have all the necessary equipment including hydrobath and high velocity dryer, all we need then are the dogs :cheer:

    TOP Idea :D

HH don't tempt me I'd get to your place and leave with a puppy

    and that's THE idea :rofl::love: :p

  10. I normally don't come in here - not sure why I did today

I am so sorry Trish - we all knew how excited you guys were about getting little Lola ... :(:happydance2:

    RIP little Lola

  11. I've always been led to believe Cows milk isn't good for little tummies .. (canine or human) .. and as such don't ever give my dogs Cows milk.

We opt for Di-Vetelac or BioLac for our guys when young and then later on give them Goats milk as a treat. There are plenty more experienced/qualified people here to give you advice in this area so will be good to see their responses.

ETA: my human kids were also bottle fed & raised on commercial formulas or goats milk until they were old enough to tolerate cows milk.

  12. I have heard a couple of people who like Nutro but don't think it is even available for sale where I live

Unfortunately yes, there is limited availability of Nutro in Australia but it is spreading  A couple of the online stores now stocking Nutro do ship interstate etc. if interested it would be worth contacting them to find out.

Can't remember the details but if you do a search on Nutro these sites have been listed before.

happystarz - at the end of the day I'd be initially feeding what the breeder was feeding. If you don't like the results you can gradually change your little one over to something else. At the end of the day we all have our opinions on what is good & bad and that is what it is 'peoples' opinions' some can be backed up with facts - others can not but different dogs/different breeds all do well in different foods.

For example my MIL has a border collie whom she feeds (in my opinion) one of the cheapiest, nastiest supermarket foods available. This is something I would NEVER feed my dogs and I cringe when she talks about it but you know what?? Her dog looks fantastic and because of that we can't convince her to change foods ... Go Figure :laugh:

  13. Wow HH that is some steep registration fees over there! ;)

In NSW they are supposed to be registered by 6 months - to give you time to desex and get the lower desexed rate

YUP .. we nearly died when we moved here from Sydney and found out the fees were ANNUAL :swear:

Ipswich City Council also hand out $150 fines for unregistered dogs found in your possession.

(well that was 2yrs ago - might have gone up !! Our neighbours dog got out - they've been here 20+ years, the dog is a Great Dane who is around 13 I think they said and they didn't even know about the registration fees - he'd been here that long without anyone questioning it)

Think I'll move to North Brisbane :D Every cent saved and all that !!
