Thank you for sharing your experience with your girl , It all makes for interesting reading and thought . It is positive to hear your girls uterus was completely normal and the lining etc was all normal. I hope with very careful management we can at least keep my girl pyo free this season and try and get an extended season from her . Mind you I dont know if that will affect fertility levels or not ???? Clav has worked for my girl also , which I am hoping the infection wont bulid a resistance to .... Some people have suggested Rashberry leaf tablets to help get the uterus lining ready prior to mating ??? Has anyone used it and felt it was a good product ???? Thanks Aziah . My bitch is a maiden so that may be our down fall sadly . So hard to know . I guess we are just going to have to ride it out , watch for any discharge , keep her on abs , mate her and hope for the best ... Thanks again

No, the infection had already taken its toll on those babies, one boy who was a tad bigger than his siblings lived 24 hours but I always knew he'd be toxic too... If you cleared it up with Clavulox I hold hope for your next attempt, ensure the moment she comes into season that she starts taking Clavulox and you don't stop them until the babies arrive (I have had success with this method previously). The bitch I speak of was allergic to penicillin and regarless, the bacteria she had wasn't responsive to anything bar Baytril. It must been hard knowing there was nothing you could do for the wee boy ... She responded well to Clav so that is what we have stuck with and infection hasnt built a resistance to it yet .. She is in season as mentioned and I have her on Clav . Im so pleased to hear this method has worked for you . With the girl it worked on .. How soon after did we return into season ? Was the first time you mated her successful ? did pyo reoccur later down the track ? Did you do anything else to help the uterus heal , or help to concieve etc Sorry about all the questions .. Goodness diagnosis took a while to be discovered for your girl. Did your friends bitch short cycle after treatment by much more than a normal season cycle length ?? This is the part I am having problems finding answers for , as they do short cycle after treatment but has anyone been lucky enough to get a pregnancy from a bitch with a 3month cycle after treated ? So was treatment unsuccessful ?? My girl had open pyo and I hope we can get through this season and the pyo doesnt return . I feel she is worth the chance ..

Hello I would like to hear from everyone who has experienced open pyo in a maiden bitch . She was treated sucessfully ( responded well to medications ) and now is in the stage of short cycling ( common after pyo treatment ) she is looking to come into seaon again but the problem is it has only been 3 months since she was last in . She has been put on to antibotics , but Im wondering do I take my chance and mate her via TCI ? Has anyone had a similar experience ? I would appreciate any advice , information , good and bad experiences please . How long after treatment did everyone elses girls return in to season ?? Thank you in advance Kindest Regards Sandra
