Cooked, liver, heart, cheese, one of mine goes nuts over pieces of carrot!

Never had an issue with roo, my cats and dogs all love it.

Try an engineering shop, just need a lathe.

Plush puppy do nice slicker brushes, I use a medium one on my border collies, does a great job of removing undercoat.

Just watch with using Pantene, you will have a build up of silicon.

Hi all,
Is anyone using the Dimmitrol daily tablets for Heartworm with their dogs?
I have Collie type dogs and am looking at the tablet that does NOT contain any mectin products.
Many thanks
Have you had your dogs tested for the MDR1 gene? If not you may be worrying for nothing. My Border Collies have been on Interceptor/Milbemax for 20 years with no problems but BCs are far less likely to have the MDR1 gene that Collies who need to be tested.
We all used to use dimmitrol for many years before the monthly tablets came out. They do work but you have to be very careful not to miss one.

Hi
Myself and my partner are going to the Sunshine Coast for a few nights in late May. We will have our three dogs with us.
We have found a wonderful accommodation place that welcomes the dogs. They also offer massage and in house dinners etc.
However what do DOL'ers suggest to do during the day? We thought a visit to the beach, the Eumundi markets on Wednesday, any other ideas of things we can do with the pooches? Do any of the touristy things allow dogs? Ginger Farm, Crystal Palace etc?
Thanks!!
Sadly I don't think any of the places you have mentioned will allow dogs, also you will have to check which beaches are dog friendly.

Have both Geib and Wahl, have been pleased with the results from both. As Mystiqview says, ears, croup, rear leg feathering and on some dogs have thinned out tails too.

What's wrong with sticking it straight down the dogs neck? :D

Sadly. Next time might just be the last time for her, can you imagine the rage that dog is going to be building up inside when he is behind the gate and can hear her telling the other dog off? Open the gate lady and I will kill you

Have kept two with no problems.

I have used a hair dryer on cold air only, start at the dogs head, slowly go all over the dog slowly the air parts the long hair and you can see right down to the skin, really good for long haired dogs, doesn't take long either. :)

In my opinion the Mars Coat King and the Furminator are to harsh for use on a Border Collies coat, have used the colour stuff and didn't notice a difference.

Might be worth a trip to the vets to get it checked out properly - just to be on the safe side. :)

So sorry, thinking of you.

Reactions with the C5 injection for kennel cough are quite regularly seen. This is usually prevented by administering orally up the nose.

Metro still do ring run outs on Wednesday nights. The ring isn't always set up but someone will certainly put you through a run out if that's what you are after. I try to get down there every other Wednesday to train my dogs and put people through run outs... but there are usually at least a couple of triallers around who know enough to give you some tips, tricks and pointers etc. I'll echo what the others have said, a lot of instructors encourage you into the ring far too early. Do some run outs and go to some trials to get a better idea if you really are ready. I see a lot of people in the ring who do silly things and lose points for all sorts of handler errors because they don't know enough about how to trial a dog yet! Ring craft and having a well trained dog are 2 very different things that need to come together in order to compete well!
Thanks. I just emailed Metro actually asking them about it :)
Yes - I don't know anything about being in the ring - whilst Booker might be ready - I'm not!
I've just taken Booker for a walk and we did some training down the park - opposite to an off leash area - for some distraction. He did really well. I'll just keep up the working around distractions.

I know there have been cases of Labradors being crossed with Maremmas, pups sold off as long haired Labradors!

Will be so much easier for you once the vet has cut them, will be easier afterwards with the Dremel to keep them really neat and short.

My dog hasn't got any dew claws at the back. Her front ones she uses like thumbs, including digging them into me when she wants attention. They're certainly nothing like that thou I did get the vet to help clip them back last vaccination time. She used a parrot beak clipper and it was over before my dog noticed. Not like the evil guillotine clippers.
Still thinking about getting a dremmel. I'd really like a dremmel that oscillates so it doesn't risk winding up fur into the mechanism.
To stop fur going into the mechanism, push the nails through a nylon stocking, keeps hair out of the way and on the plus side too you get to see more of the nail.

I reall think that it would depend on just how bad the plaque build up was, as to how well the product is going to work.

Totally agree with ShowDogs comments.

The rules in Queensland are unrestrained dog in car $200 fine. Dog on lap of driver $233.
People we train at dog obedience have to be made aware of the rules.

Love my Barf Hydrobath, previously had a hydrobath Australia hydrobath, but rinse tank just wasn't big enough to rinse a full coated Border Collie.
