  1. yes Princess is a very impressive little dog! I really enjoyed the singles, pairs and veterans comp... Something different. Would have liked the handicap comp for division winners - that is SO much fun to watch - just not enough time to do it all! The Sydney host clubs did a tremendously awesome job!!
  2. Thanks for that! But, what about the Singles and Pairs results?? I see the Veterans results are up and that was a lot of fun to watch the older dogs run much easier on low heights!
  3. What about Dock Diving? Does anyone know where you can get any information from?
  4. There is stuff on the AFA website about this now. Not too much info yet though
  5. I think the point Squirt was also making, was that by breaking the exercises down, you can not only find a problem, but use the breakdown to quicken specific areas like you would in obedience trial training, like faster turns etc. Its getting the dog to focus on the part job at hand rather than the conclusion, promoting a concentrated effort. That's the main reason we did it. We knew she was going to be quick, but this ensured precision at every stage - keep in mind it's several different behaviours all rolled into one. We did it mainly for the box turn but also to ensure the same speed going to the box and back. Best of luck with the training... love to see more kelpies out there!!
  6. I have a kelpie who began at the Nationals last yr and only recently is clocking under 4s. I think some of it is maturity (age) and 'getting that it is a race' but training, we: - although she could do full runs, we continued to break down the exercise (box turns, box turns over one jump etc, power jumping (racing against another dog), recall on the tug etc) to observe what it was that she wasn't giving 100% to. So we didn't just run her up and down the course because she could do full runs. Think breaking it down like this made it alot easier to 'diagnose' what we had to work on. Racing anoher dog in power jumping (8 jumps) or recalls, and letting one dog go just before the other sped her up alot. We also ran her brother over the 8 and let her go after he had jumped the second one (so two running at the same time) - Gee, it's the fastest i have seen both of them run. Does this make sense? (it's early in the morning)
  7. Yeah, i suspect mine is the motivator! I have issues with actual pads.... not those pads near the dew claws (if that makes sense). Not a sliding thing. I suspect he is just heavy in his running style and turns on his pads instead of slowing and turning (again, if that makes sense)
  8. Yes, pretty lucky with the grounds in NSW. I too got a pb from my girl the comp just before the Sydney Royal. Went to the Canberra Royal in Feb and one of my dogs ripped 3 pads in the first race of the day He tried so hard to hide it. The grounds were like cement. I think our club ended up with 4-5 dogs with ripped pads and there were plenty from other clubs too. A good reason to promote indoor racing Though i've heard the dogs 'burn' their feet instead...
  9. I know someone from Norwest did. Can try and organise a copy for you??? I'll also organise those divorce papers for you I didn't see it but heard who went, great to see a diverse lot of dogs... they are the most popular
  10. These are the only photos i managed. My daughter was telling me about your dogs Lil Bailey (she said she spoke briefly with you at the Nationals) but with the handler swaps, i have no idea who you are http://picasaweb.google.com/1PJEVS/SydneyR...OrY19va9JmgkgE# let me know if the link doesn't work Cheers
  11. Completely agree!!! I had one of two dogs entered... so one is calm, the other i think could smell flyball I don't think i had anything else to give... i was exhausted! Loved the Handicap Champion Trophy.... what a way to finish off the racing. It was great!
  12. Yep, that would have been the one. Mr CK has come quite a way since then. We'd only had him doing full runs for about 1 week and a half so it was a bit of a lottery. Twiggy ran really well all comp from memory! i think it was a good idea for beginner dogs. Twiggy herself had only been doing runs for about 2-3 wks. She was originally only entered in the beginners but a dog pulled out so she filled in.... let's just say she was tired..... her first ever comp and it being 3days.... I saw some of your other clips (agility and frisbee).... keeping yourself nice and busy
  13. Thanks for sharing. I think my Twiggy started with your dog Reddi at the Nationals in the beginners racing? I love watching the dogs run. My daughter's dog is the tan staffie cross in the Boorowa clip and mine is the tan kelpie.
  14. http://video.google.com.au/videoplay?docid...880956619981720 Love the pug. Anyone got any others they can share.... Even training ones would be good. Cheers Linda

  19. Do any of you guys know when the next Endurance Test is and where it will be held.........???? ;)
  20. I let my boy play with tennis balls although most ppl i know say you shouldn't. For me, it's the tug toy he only sees at flyball and he's obssessed with it. ;)
  21. No i'm in a Sydney team. I put it down to they just get so excited..... and it's funny when you catch them in the act - photos of the dogs jumping back over the jumps and the ball completely flat in their mouths (Busted!)
  22. There's my staffie cross, a pure bred staffie and an american staffie and we get the slazenger balls (new and from tennis clubs) - It only takes one bite and they're broken. Between the three of them, we have to throw out at least 5 balls after every flyball training session - Now don't get me started on comps!!
  23. The Sydney Psychos are a flyball group: www.sydneypsychos.com.au But any club is great!
  24. Psychos train 1pm till late arvo!! on Sunday! At Lidcombe
