  1. Has anybody heard from the Tassan's in Toowoomba?
  2. Was it the iron level or the vitamin K level......I had heard before that too much vitamin K can be dangerous? does anyone know? I would of thought that the amount must of been a lot.
  3. I would be getting the excess weight off asap.....but at 10 years I would expect to have a far lazier pug than a 7 or 8 year old. Excess weight will make her huff and puff....get it off, because it is also putting unnecessary strain on her heart and on her joints! Your parents could change her diet to a light dry food or simply cut back what they feed her now and fill the bowl with grated carrot or similar to make her feel full! grandkids aren't treating her too much when they come to visit are they? too many treats are usually the cause of extra weight, whether on the dog or us!...LOL
  4. Also I gather the dog in concern is a Stafforshire Bull terrier? because that breed is known to get congenital epilepsy between the ages of 3 -5 years...so maybe the fits have been occurring for a bit longer than the owners realise. If it is epilepsy the fits will need medication otherwise undue stress is placed upon the heart with every seizure and ultimately the dog will die from heart failure!
  5. Hi this site gives a good basic understanding of seizures....and may be of help to you in working out what is going on and what questions to ask the owners. http://www.petalia.com.au/Templates/StoryT...fm?Story_No=153
  6. And you must view it under 'blue' light to be 100% sure that it is ring worm! ring worm is transferable from dogs to cats as well as to humans and if you have ringworm you can give it to your dog!
  7. Have you plucked any excess hair from the inside of the ears to make air movement better this will help clear up ear infection along with ointment......she hasn't got ear mites has she?
  8. apart from the obvious of ensuring that you pick up droppings as often as you can......A charcoal tablet given with their meal will fix the problem.....you will find you only need to give the charcoal tablet about 4-5 times and this fixes the problem!
  9. Kelp in the diet helps with pigmentation......although probably just a bit of winter nose...it should come right.
  10. here is a pug coat pattern....but I am sure it would fit other small breeds http://www.kurvonpugs.com/page5.asp
  11. the addition of flax seed, either in oil form or crushed will achieve the same results.....and is extremely high omega 3 for general well being! And a much cheaper alternative.....around $7.95 for 1kg bag of crushed flax seed.
  12. Several years ago I swapped to chicken mince and quality dry food! The difference in my dogs coats and general well being has been Astronomical. I would never feed beef again. The chicken mince is totally free from preservatives, so needs to be frozen or used straight away. And with dry food...you only get what you pay for....read the bag...check the protein level and the fat level.....
  13. Pugs can have off days just like us, more than likely a 24 viral infection, glad to hear she is back up and around!
  14. I would checking to see if the anal glands need cleaning....that can create a smell at the fron end believe it or not!
