  2. We are on our sencond hose and it's became shoter and shorter,,, Well, I did forget to mention the sprinkler system....she digged all of them out arround the yard & chewed them into pieces and put them on her bed as a little collection, what a smart girl :p
  3. Thanks guys, all these advise are really greatful and sure will make me throught the hard days. I'm doing the TNT with Maxine since I got her and teaching her retrieve by 2 months. She's doing well with the retrieve at home but the problem is she's very timid. I try to bring her to local park as offen as possiable. there has a group of people walking their dogs every day at the same time and they are soooo nice. But she's too scared to close to other people/dog and don't even bothered to look the ball. During the whole time, the poor thing just to hind underneath the pram
  4. Thanks a lot! It's a big relieve knowing that she might be a good girl one day She's doing good in the traning most of the time. Each Sunday morning she will see so many very well behavied GSDs and hopfully she's learning the manner. I really love her and won't give up on her but my husband is threatening to chained her up if she chewed his golf buggy again! Also, we are going on holiday for 3weeks in March and during that time my friend will live in our house to look after Maxine. My friend likes dog but never have one by her own so I'm bit worried when we back from holiday, what's gonna left in the house/yard
  5. Yes, my hubby made a bed for her and she sleeps on it every night.
  6. She will be in the run during the night and some short day time only. She had all this walk and traning but during the night she's playing&chewing everything in the back yard.
  7. Thanks. I'm at home most of the time so thinking a run maybe better.
  8. Your GSD and mine 8months GSD are doing the similar thing execpt the barking. I'm seeking help as well.
  9. Thanks for all the reply. I'll give her chicken frames and lamb neck ect. to chew, but it wont last long or she will dig and hind it in the garden. I'm thinking crating her as during the night I can hear she's playing with brooms or bucket(now we use metal one but she still empty and play with it) all night long.
  10. Forgot to say that Maxine love to chew the shoe as well and she pulls the washing off the line regular. Today, when I walked into the back yard and sew the washing all over the grass, I was in tears,,,,,,, I also tried use water spray to teach her. First she was affird of the water steam but then she starts love it and chewed off our hose.
  11. Hi all! I have a lovely 8 1/2month female GSD Maxine and need some help& advice. Maxine is the most good looking GSD I've ever see(I think ) and she's very smart. As a full time mum of an active 16months baby and just start my own online shop last year, I've been very busy but trying to do my best to look after her. I take her for walk twice a day, traning& playing almost every day, go to local GSD club every Sunday morning ect. but the problem is she will chew everything she could found if I'm not arround. So far, on her chewed list: a new watch, a set of make up brush, 4 plastic bucket, XX garden tools, 3 brooms, garden hose, 4 T-shirt and so many my daughter's toys. My hubby is that kind of person that his kind of handy and like to do the work by himself but always left the tools behind. And every time he left something behind, maxine will find it and it's gone. Since I can't change my husband I'll have to teach my dog. I've tried say "No" when she's doing the wrong thing and gave a lot of praise when she's doing the right thing, but this doesnt work. Yesterday, my husband was checking his golf buggy and put everything on his working staion, while his on the phone(about 10 mins), my dog stole & chewed two wheels and the new buggy was gone. I'm now at break down point and don't know how to teach her anymore?
  12. Thanks Jo, that infomation really helps. I'll go to Bunnings have a look tomorrow. I just stoped wash cloth nappies not long ago and thinking about start it again is a bit painful...
  13. Thanks heaps! I'd like to have a look of the book I did a lot of reading but non of them talk much about the toilet training.
  14. Hi, thanks for your concern. The JR has his own kennel to sleep in but he never use it and wee inside . No matter how many times I clean and wash it, Captain will just pull his wool lining out and wee inside. For my GSD, she has her timber bed with wool lining under the canopy which is about 20 square meter and conect with garage.
  15. Well, my 6months GSD chewed my new watch, my daughter's plush toys....so I've try to put things away. But now, she start to chew my coffee table :D Any one know a chew toy which can really be chew? Anything I brought for GSD won't last
  16. This is really useful tip for me! Thanks heaps! I just posted a topic in Puppy section asking toilet traing my GSD and JR. Now I'm thinking make a loo for each of them as they live separatlly. Just thinking how big the loo would be for the GSD :D One question, do you really wash used towels and grass in washing machine?I have a baby and wouldnt image use same washing machine for her clothes and dog towel. How many times can a piece of fake grass be washed?
  17. Hi everyone! I have toilet training issue with my two dogs and would like to hear some advise. I have two dogs and they all live in the yard. My 6months GSD Maxine stay inside during the day and sleeps in the yard under the canopy. She will not wee or pooh inside the house or under the canopy but will relief herself all over the back yard. My 13months daughter is leaning to walk, I assume she will soon walking in the back yard and rolling in the pooh :D . The other dog is a un-desexed boy,2 1/2 Jack Russell. His pre-owner went to Sydney for training and I was suppose to look after him for few months. We got it wrong from the begining--my husband punished him for wee inside the house. Since then, he will wee or pooh behind us. so we let him sleep at a coner of back yard and didn't trained him. After all, he will only stay few months. Last months, my friend called me and said she accepted the offer in Sydney and can not bring Captain with her So now, I'm thinking to train two dogs use a spot in the yard. But can you train older dogs to do so? Anyone have any idea?
  18. Thanks K9, she's getting better which is great
  19. Hi K9, I've been reading&doing this with my two dogs for 12days. One 2 1/2 Jack Russell has no problem with waiting until I say"OK". My 6months GSD however doesnt doing well. When it's dinner time,I will tie her up then bring the food out. She just try to pull out, jump to get the food. I try to stand at her right side--but she kept moving&wolking &jumping ..... Maxine will only give me a short look, I can't even finish saying "yes" ;) . I think she didnt get"yes", should I use "yes" with her daily? i.e. when giving food? Or should I say "good" instead? One more thing. Since I started this with her, she wont do any "heel" while training. When I hold the leash and say"heel", she will either pull back or drop :p I really hope that I can have this done with her--I need more confidence through this program Thanks in advance!!
