  1. We Immunise puppies at 6-8 weeks, 12 and 16 weeks (im pretty sure that the 16 week is optional)
  2. yep my thoughts exactly, or if washing is to be hung out and puppy cant be watched then crate or pen puppy till washing is dry and then let loose in backyard again, good luck with it That is not always possible, especially with children, full time work and daily washing. The poor dog would never get out of their crate I was just thinking exactly the same thing, with so much washing to do there is always washing on my line and I have 2 BM puppies who LOVE denim
  3. Id rather clean up a huge mess than have my dogs stolen out of my backyard :p
  4. It must be a boxer thing, i had two boxers who did the exact same thing.
  5. Took OH to work this morning and left the three dogs inside (2 of which are 5 month old puppies) in the tiled area with all the baby gates up. But when I got home I got a nasty old surprise, the dogs greeted me at the front door which they shouldn't have been able to get to and there was DESTRUCTION! they had knocked down both baby gates (these are 35kg puppies we are talking about here though ) and had gone crazy! They ripped up an entire bulk pack of nappies, ate all the cat biscuits, spilled the cat's water all over the floor, weed on the carpet, weed on my rug, jumped on every bed in the house and put muddy paws all over my very expensive leather lounge And they did all this in 25 minutes Who'd have em'?
  6. I second the clamshell pool idea. My guys used to dig all the water out of their bowls all the time but once I got the clamshell pool they stopped and I havn't seen them do it since. I guess they figured out its more fun to do it it the pool
  7. My dogs sleep in the garage with free access to the backyard, is that considered inside or outside :p
  8. I have a Great Dane who does this, and gee it makes a hell of a mess ;) Yes I agree and also scary to think in a 40 degree day she may of dug all the water out. Have put other containers around but she does the same to all of them I had the same problem with my bullmastiffs. I solved the problem by buying one of those clamshell pools and since then they haven't touched their water bowl and spend all their time playing in the pool. ETA: woopsies, should have read the whole thread before replying. You beat me to it sway
  9. You mentioned that she misbehaves for your mum and your partner. They really need to be firm with her, it seems she may think she is higher in the pack then they are ie you at the top, then her and then them. Good luck with her she is a beautiful little girl
  10. I fully understand how confusing it is with everyone telling you something different Every breed is different and need different things when growing. I feed my bullmastiffs eukanuba large breed puppy biscuits (you are able to feed them this and thats it seeing as though it has all their nutritional needs already in it) aswell as raw mince, chicken wings and vegetables. I was cooking the mince and adding pasta and the veges but they weren't interested in it cooked.
  11. I have just gotten a 8 week old bullmastiff and am having quite a bit of trouble with him and my 18 month old son. Its not my son who is hurting the dog it is the other way around, he constantly knocks my son over and bites and scratches him (its in a playful way though) This morning i heard my son crying outside and found the puppy had knocked him off his little bike and he had scratches up the side of his face. I find this only happens when they are alone together for brief periods of time, i growl at alexi (the dog) when he gets too rough with him but it doesnt seem to be working. I thought it was children you couldnt trust on their own around dogs not the other way around ;) oh also i forgot to mention it only ever happens when he is playing outside. Any suggestions on what i can do?
  12. My BM Alexi does this too, even though he has a million toys to chew on. Id guess it would be teething.
