If it was going to keep up I would consider a little bit of night driving but I just had my car fixed from a roo hit so not keen on repeating that experience. One big male roo hitting the windscreen and bouncing on my roof is enough! it will be cooler tomorrow and won't be an issue, it's just the extreme days that have been a problem so far.

My car aircon has died and because I also needed a new radiator I couldn't afford aircon as well. So windows were all down and it was like a hot hair dryer continuously on. Before I got to the caravan park I was doing 60 on the highway so my temp stayed down, the radiator just couldn't cool.

I'm leaving SA at the moment towing a caravan. It just got too hot during the day yesterday and I had to stop till it cooled a bit. I actually did a tyre as well so ended up staying at Keith caravan park. Got tyres sorted this morning, set out and it was so bad by 11am I had to find another caravan park to stay in for the day so we could have air con. I just replaced my motor and no way I'm going to risk it doing a head. The conditions near Bordertown were some of the worst I've ever driven in.

What I found works is to put a wet top on, it really helps cool you down. Sounds silly but it's better than cooking.

We are lucky here, it's as hot as hell but the police are everywhere to catch the firebugs. We have one who starts fires around here and we are due a catastrophic fire in the hills, it's only through their quick action and vigilance we stay safe. They literally sit at the major roads and check cars going in.

What would people do if they invited friends over and there wasn't enough seats for adults and children, would they ask the adults to sit on the floor?

If kids are bright and happy and wriggling around then the likelihood is higher they aren't disabled in some way. I went on a bus recently, that was an eye opener. I had a plaster cast on and the only person who offered me a seat was a young woman who had just come out of hospital after a near miscarriage at 25 weeks. When a woman came on with a small child this young woman gave up her seat to her as it was harder to stand in a bus with an infant. I had just broken some bones in my back at the time so I had to sit but all the able bodies people just ignored everyone who obviously had more need for the seat.

I get dizzy easily and can't stand for long while out so if I come across kids on the seats and they don't get up I'll just go down instead :laugh:

Children are human and deserve the same respect as adults, if someone date asked me to move one of my kids so they could sit down they woulda get a very nasty reaction.

Animals and children are not objects they have feelings and it is disgraceful that people treat them that way.

The old thinking that adults are somehow better or above animals/children is a joke.

Obviously there are many people that live a sheltered life and have nothing better to do than bitch about things that really don't matter.

A vet clinic is built and designed specifically for animals, it is NOT a cafe, restaurant, persons house, doc surgery, etc.

Really, you'd abuse someone who might genuinely need to sit down? Did it ever occur to you that some people might not want to disclose their health problems to a complete stranger.

Some get away with it because if asked to show proof their dog is a genuine service dog they start screaming about discrimination and privacy. They use the fact that you can't ask about a disability to get away with it. For the record I am all for service dogs, I just hate those who abuse the system to take their pets around with them.

How hard is it to document the same horses over a few months, they could have done this to eliminate which horses were recent arrivals and came in that condition and which are staying the same or getting worse. The rspca have always been completely hopeless when it comes to horses

I can understand when people lose their job or develop health problems or other bad luck happens. I don't understand rehoming because it's just more convenient.
