  1. It sounds like you were as lucky to have her as she was to have you. My deepest sympathy to you. Run free Loki.
  2. What a gorgeous boy you were Linus. RIP little guy.
  3. RIP Beau. I am sure if he was suffering that he will forgive you as he is out of pain now and running free.
  4. I found all the nice thoughts comforting from here when I lost my horse the same down as thegownchick lost her bird. I had my family and my OH and things but it also is nice to know there are other people out there who care. It is also like a bit of a tribute to your lost pet.
  5. Loki was never frightened at puppy school in fact he was labled the party animal but there were a couple that were frightened. 1 lady only brought her Maltese to the 1st session. The couple of other timid ones did get a lot better. They picked who they liked and steared clear of Mr Boisterous and went to the other quieter dogs. Key I think is to just let them learn.
  6. I had a little budgie I had for years that died in July 2004. She could talk amazingly, not as clear as a parrot but still understandable. Some of the words weren't so nice (shut up and oooohhhh sh@t to name a couple) but although she wouldn't let me touch her and would bite me all the time, even when cleaning her cage I would have to wear a glove because she wasn't frightened of me either. When you spoke to her she would put her head to 1 side and listen. Anyone who thinks small animals don't have a big impact are very sad people. Nothing takes their place and time doesn't heal all wounds. All time brings is a way to learn to cope with their passing but you will always miss Moses. RIP little guy.
  7. Thank you for all your thoughts. As each day goes by I still think of him but with the fond memories of times we had together like his first Supreme Champion, I was like a proud mum that day. And I still remember so clearly the 1st day I saw him. Thegownchich, I am sorry for your loss but like you, I believe our much loved pets (and any that weren't so lucky) go to heaven and we will again meet with them one day. Any place without animals is not a place I want to be.
  8. Oh you poor thing. I know how much budgies can mean to people after my little Pacey. As if flame you, these things do happen. My pair of dogs managed to get through the big cage we had in the back when we were out. Came home to no birds and lots of feathers so don't blame yourself and give your husband some time as yourself to get over it. RIP Moses.
  9. Thank you all for you lovely comments and wishes. He was a stunning boy and his nature was unbeatable. Quiet Thoroughbreds are not the norm but a quiet stallion Thoroughbred is unbeatable. He still lives on in his 3 babies. See you when the time comes Tudor.
  10. Tudor Kingdom Aug 1988 to 27 Dec 2006 You were such a special boy Tudes. Stunning big bay stallion with your big white blaze, typical fine Thoroughbred appearance yet the nature and personality that no-one could beat. Even my scardy cat Mum wasn't scared of you as you wouldn't have hurt a sole. I remember the 1st show you won Supreme Throroughbred for me and how quickly you learnt everything. I remember so many judges comments in the ridden as they couldn't get over how quiet you were. I could take you anywhere, ride with other horses and the worst you would do is prance. You touched so many hearts in your time with us. Mum, Linda, Chrissy and Kuri. Thank you Kuri for spending his last minutes with him. Sadly Tudor was put to sleep as he had a large tumor wrapped around his intestine. He showed no signs until right at the end so we had no time to act on it. Even if we had of known it would have been a case of keeping him as comfortable as we could as long as we could as he had developed a heart mumor over his later years and had already been through enough. Rest in peace Tudor, know that you will never be forgotten and will be always missed until I see you again.
  11. Oh he is absolutely gorgeous! I know what you mean by putting weight on quickly, Loki is putting on a kg a week! MORE PHOTO'S!
  12. I have never had a dog with a heart mumor but my old horse developed at heart mumor at 15. He is 18 now. The vet said it shouldn't worry him provided he doesn't go doing cross country, racing or endurance which at his age and being in retirement he certainly wasn't going to be doing that!
  13. That is a good idea. Loki was doing it before (and still does on the odd occasion) and we found he would grab hold so we would hold him, stick fingers in his mouth and not let them out, became an unpleasant experience (without hurting) and he stopped. Also replaced our hands with toys on many occasions.
