  1. Hi africandreams, I usually do a litttle bit of training every day, no complete run throughs just components of what ever level I'm trialling in. With warm ups, it depends on your dog, I like my dogs to be ready and tuned into work as soon as we enter the ring, so with CCD I would be warming up when the dog before has completed the SFE or sooner if the handler is a fast worker, also be mindful of people not completing the trial and leaving the ring early. Hope this helpful.
  2. Munsterlander, all have achieved their CDX and Millie her TD as well. Hopefully with Zizz I can finally get a dog titled in UD, without out side circumstances this time getting in the way.
  3. I have been in involved in Obedince since 1995 when as a family we got beautiful borderX as an 8 week old puppy from AAPS here in VIC. I have always had dogs growing up, with Bess, I needed her trained as I had very young children at the time. We also zoomed through all levels of training, then one day I saw a man who was working his dog in the trialling ring, his name was Vic Thompson, and his dog was the same age as my Bess,( my poor first competitive obedince dog she needed a medal for what I put her through, correction chain era )Iwas hooked, 15 years and 5 dogs later I'm still trialling.Bess, Millie Large Munsterlander, Milton(god dog)Golden Retriever, Zizz Large
  4. I shall try again, over the last 10 years there have been a couple of us participating Obedience Trialling, Showing Tracking and doing very well in Agility(my friend June Williams gaining her ADM and her Utility Title in Obedience plus her NRD Title in Retrieving with her beautiful Large Munsterlander Kelly) plus her boy Reily who gained his CDX and his AD. With my orginal Munsterlander Millie, we gained our CDX and TD titlles and on our way to UD when she was cruelly taken from me with Lung Cancer at the age of 6 we also dabled in Agility, but she was not sound enough to go on. I now have 2LM's my devil child Annie and her sister Zizz, Zizz has just recently gained her CDX and we are now training for UD so hopefully we will be ready next year. My Annie she is showing great aptitude for Tracking. Also there have a number of very good Obedience and Tracking and exceptional Show dogs in South Australia as well. Not to mention the lovely Show dogs that have gained Aust.Ch.'s and my dogs grandfather who gained his Grand Championship Title here in Victoria. I personally think that I own the best kept secret in Dogdom
  5. Hi as every body knows I have Large Munsterlanders, and over the pasrt 10 years my friend and I
  6. Hi valleyCBR, I cant acess my emails at the moment in reply to your request, also I thought Ihad done the all the right things to reply but me and computers sometime don't mix, sorry this is so off topic but I didn't know how else to contact you.
  7. Was in a very wll known shopping centre in the south east suburbs bayside on Saturday, were a PP is located just off the car park ground floor level. Just had to go inside and make comments about puppy farms, lack of support for puppy once bought, and did you know that poodle cav just might drop coat, and you wont know until it is to late, and also that you will proabably pay $$$$$$$$$$$$$ more for a cross breed than you would a pure breed papered poodle or cavy and have no on going support. Shop assisant said it was only my opion and I replied, no the opinion of anyone who is experinced in the dog world and I was very experinced.Boy did that get my juices flowing, but it felt good. It made my day.
  8. Hi WhippetsMum, I saw one at K-9 Antics down at KCC park, so they are available here in VIC, hope this helps
  9. Hi Su888, what abour Bayside Campanion Dog Club, closer than all the the others, except Underdog, it is in Bentleigh, and everyone I have spoken to is very happy there. It just depends on what you want to do with your new baby. Where ever you decide to go, good luck with your training
  10. Hi,if you are a responsible dog owner, your dog will be on lead except in off lead areas, it doesn't matter where you live.
  11. Hi Helen, how about a LargeMunsterlander for real bit of glamour( not that I'm biased or one eyed of course ) I live not very far from the CBD and would love to meet up.
  12. Hi FHRP I think you will find that where there is snow there is National Parks which equals no dogs.
  13. Hi poodlelover2010, the age for all dogs in Vic to start agility is 18 months, however if there is no jumping, only contact or weaving then, start now.Where do you live, in my area there is a campanion dog club that trains agility for fun, if you have no experince, then a guiding hand could help you.
  14. Yep COP here as well, apart as it being a lead in for UD signals, I feel it is one less jump that they have to do especially if you have a larger heavier breed.
  15. Hi Scouty, a Dally is a Dalmation, sorry but I don't belong to Hastings, I thought I saw you at Mornington a few weeks ago. However, I will be trialling at Hastings look forward to seeing you there.I have Large Munsterlanders.
