  1. We bought Charlie from a shelter at 8 weeks old and they told us he was desexed at 6 weeks old well rubbing his belly today i felt a ball like lumps (which felt a bit smaller then two marbles) at the end of his penis under the skin and now i am really worried he may not be desex. I tried feeling for them a bit later while he was on all fours but it felt less noticable. He has his ear tattoed and everything but im starting to wonder. If they were testicles would they have already dropped by now. Charlies age is in my signiture. Would the vet be able to tell if he is desexed of not at his age?
  2. We are looking at training Charlie in agility and flyball.. does your dog have to be purebred to enter into these competition? How old should training start? What should he be trained in first? or should he be doing both at the same time? So i have lots of questions.. i really don't know much about this area at all.
  3. My pup Charlie had a C3 vaccination on 16/01 and tonight we are taking him in for a C4 vaccination.. The part im confused about is the puppy obediane class we want to sign him up for says all puppies must have had a C5 vaccination before joining. What is the difference between a C3, C4 AND C5 vaccinations?
  4. Thanks for the advise i will take in into action and keep you guys updated
  5. We were told by the vet that every time we find a poo in the house to take it outside to the same spot and next time we want to him to go outside to poo we should walk him to that spot and in no time he should learn to go there. do you think that would work? -edited coz i felt like i needed to make it more clear
  6. Thanks cavNrott and everyone else, ill have to talk to my OH.
  7. I guess wtih your first pup you just expect them to be perfect because when your cuddle them on the couch and they look into your eyes thats how they feel.
  8. We always have the laundry door open so he can come and go as he pleases but he never goes outside on his own he is always following me around the house and wont go outside unless im out here. I try without the lead on him ( i was just doing what dogs life said to do with toilet training ). I do praise him with rewards and cuddles but maybe i need to do more.
  9. on a happier note we have taught him to sit, drop and stay
  10. Thanks guys. I dont growl at him but i think my partner growls at him when im not around which probably doesnt help. He isnt as patient as i am.Sometimes he does wees in front or us sometimes he hides it. Im not sure what crating is so im pretty sure im not doing it . We do give him treats and say "good boy" when he does it outside but nothing has come of it yet. I guess its just more trial and error until he gets it right.
  11. My OH and I have been despretly trying to get our 12 week old puppy Charlie to do his buisness outside for 3 weeks now and are getting no where. We take him outside after every play, drink, sleep, eat but nothing works. We pop him on the lead and slowly walk around the yard saying our keyword "hurry up" but he just holds it in until he comes inside again. Last night we fed him then took him outside for an hour and a half on the lead but he didnt do anything them frustrated as we needed to go to bed we let him back in and as soon as we did he just rang behind the couch and did it there.. does anyone have any suggestions about what we can do?..we are at our wits end. Thanks in advance, Erin
  12. Yes, Charlie has been trying to eat other dogs poo as well its a little frustrating but he is slowly learning that its yucky ;) I use to feed my cats whiskas but on monday changed them to royal canin so i cant wait to see the results
  13. Lol, its good to hear that my pup isnt alone.. I actually never though of putting the box up high (stupid me ;) ) ill do that first and see how i go. I really thinknig of getting a baby gate too though as he also likes eating the cat food which is also in the same room. thanks guys
  14. Our new little puppy Charlie loves eating the cats poo from their kitty litter. Everytime they use it his ears prick up and he starts sniffing (even though its located at the other end of the house), he will then run down and eat it. We can't close the door or else the cats will have an accident but we have tried grwoling at him for doing it... taking it out of his mouth ..everything. Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions about what we can do?
