  1. Ryslip were great, about 6 years since i used them though for a Mastiff pup, always good to deal with by email and phone
  2. It could be they are over feeding, have a belly ache and have colic
  3. it just makes your mind boggle with what they can get away with....because it is "allowable"
  4. OMG get off your high horse! You must NEED some sleep. It's great that you can contribute, but no need to be so condescending, Lynai is doing a fab job and simply asked for advice, which she kindly got from others. As soon as poop is seen of course it is cleaned off as soon as possible...
  5. If you didn't know, Mastiff litters are supervised pretty much 24/7! But unfortunately in that split second that you may not be watching them one might do a poop on it's own and spread it round the box and all over itself and the others, ick! and it is like glue sometimes and the mums, well, i know Mini she was disgusted at the thought of pooping them herself! Hope everything is still going well xx
  6. Oh My Gosh Lynai, i hope those puppies stay strong!!!! Good Luck!!!! My fingers are crossed for you, have added you to a group on FB aswell that might be useful :) Post piccies when you can of course!
  7. They are a gorgeous breed of dog, yes they may not recognized by the ANKC but they are a breed and have their own registry. The breed has been around a very long time. My tip, do your research thoroughly on the breed, the lines and the registries. It's quite interesting really.
  8. Sometimes it can be more than just a sickly feeling tummy, with the runs aswell especially if it's watery i would be worried about it being Gastro and they can get very ill and dehydrated from that. Hope it's nothing, but better to be safe than sorry.
  9. Thanks for the replies :) dancinbcs which Vet do you visit? I know this person doesn't mind driving, if it's a great Vet and not miles too far away that is! I will ask them to look up the Vet you mentioned Asalei thanks. We have Mastiffs and this is one of the boys i bred that's in QLD, if we can get it done without all the better. It's never nice putting them under especially these big boys.
  10. I've had success using home AI kits, fact is, when the vet did it it failed, so i did them myself and got pups, so there you go! I would think being it's a live dog, you could try again. What were the progesterone numbers, are you sure the timing was right?
  11. Hi, just wondering where in Brisbane you can get Hip and Elbow X-Rays done for scoring where you don't have to sedate? Thanks
  12. Maybe some improvement but not sure if it is my wishful thinking seeing that. She will be 5mths old this weekend and going to take new photos then. I am still just feeding her the Holistic Select giant and large breeds puppy food and one thing I have noticed is she is pooing 3-4 times a day and huge ones too! May be a slow process, as the weeks go on hopefully you will see alot more improvement. I have been looking at the importance of Zinc and Selenium and their benefits, do some research on those. Also crushed Linseed and White Millett could be very beneficial aswell. It wont upset the balance of the food either.
  13. Well Wednesday is better than Thursday, haha! What time did you get the prog test done on the Tuesday and what numbers do they go by for ovulation? You just never know with these girls, they don't always read the book.....i've heard of some really late breedings take (much to everyones suprise) and lots done at exactly the right time and they don't take! If you hadn't of done the prog at all, you would be just going by the stud dog, and by the sounds of it he was as keen as musturd.
  14. May be restless because one has had surgery?
  15. I agree with calling karen in Sydney. Although may be he just needs to see a chiro, you never know.
  16. Probably a late breeding, but eggs do stay viable for a while, only one way to see is U/S time!
  17. Just so you know, it took me FOREVER to read this whole thread, but i am glad i did i am really liking the feedback on this food. Hoping to try it on my Mastiffs :)
  18. So 10 days or so later how are they looking now?
  19. Yes! the first time and treated with AB's and she had 11 pups! With this last litter though the swab showed some nasty bugs, she was put on some heavier duty AB's and i was worried there would be no pups but she had 6 big healthy babies! Hope your girl will be ok!
  20. That's good news about the weight gain! Is she feeding from a bottle, or are you still having to tube feed?
  21. I have heard of it but didn't try it, i think the vet suggested it when i had a weak one. He was born Via C-sec and was failing to thrive, he wouldn't suckle for long and was limp and wanted to drift off, he just wasn't strong enough. Dehydrated i took him in and had him tube fed and given sub q fluids, i put him on mum and later did another lot of sub q fluids and he picked right up and suckled very strongly, he never looked back, my runt turned out to be the best in the litter after all that. If she seems strong and wants to suckle and is not dehydrated, i would continue with her and only do the plasma if she goes downhill again. JMO though.
  22. If unsure, Titre test 2 weeks after the 10 week vacc to see if the puppy is covered, why do 3 when 2 will cover them, beats me, no point over vaccinating when they don't need it no matter how high risk the area is if the dog is covered it's covered
  23. Out of interest, have you had his thyroid checked? I was speaking to someone today that had a Goldy, he had hypothyroidism and had severe allergies....amongst alot of other things, poor thing was PTS at only 2
  24. Here, we only give the two, one at 6 weeks and one at 10 weeks and no more after that. It's Protech they use. We have Titre tested at various times and ages after only giving the two puppy vaccs and they are fine.
