  1. Hi just wondering if anyone has received their March Vic Dog magazine and if they have read the "Presidents report" and if so do they take offence to the comparison being made about our "forefathers" fighting and giving their lives to fight at Gallipoli for ALL Australians freedom being put in the same context as VCA members not being willing to stand on Management Committee and ordinary VCA Committees? . To me this is an absolute insult to those who willingly and courageously gave their lives fighting for our freedom. HOW could any rationale human being put these 2 comparisons in the same context. But of course maybe I am just being far too sensitive. BUT I do recall the outcry when the Swartz sticker flyer was put in a Gazette a few years ago and a lot of members were terribly upset (and rightfully so) BUT I think this would have to be the biggest insult of all, and this is coming from our President !!! and there is no denying it as the article has been submitted and signed.
  2. Hummmmm maybe the gazebos did block some breeze but what I was asking did you see on the last day of the shows dogs walking around staggering and suffering from heat exhaustion as was posted on this forum. I bet not and I was at the show you have mentioned, it was a tad hot BUT definitely NO dogs nor people were suffering from heat exhaustion. The post was completely a fabrication of someone’s extreme imagination…. WHY I will never know nor their reasons as to why, BUT most definitely not in favour nor support of the pure bred dog world and THAT I am sure of, but perhaps this same person has a very devious hidden agenda!!!!!. gee JulieR you seem a tad aggressive, may be time for a chill pill No I am not being aggressive at all, just stating facts and if the actual facts upset you then I apoligise.

  4. Gayle did you see the following taking place? as I most certainly did not and that is what I am commenting on people posting ABSOLUTE NONSENSE on forums. quote {Temp in shade was 48 deg - temp in the ring was 51.5 deg (and that was the grass not the black / tan heavy coated breed that was in the ring at the time) - so average would be 49 deg I guess. Give a 3 deg variance for error in the machine and you still have 46 deg in the ring on the grass. When people are walking around with sweat literally dripping off them dragging dogs who are dragging / tripping over their own feet I would think that serious heat exhaustion is very close to setting in and the damamge this does to a dogs system can be unrepairable}
  5. Hi I just did a conversion from Celsius to Fahrenheit and according to the internet converter the temperatures in the “old” figures would have been 48c = 118 F 51.5c = 125F. So if it was actual fact and the temperatures reached what the person had posted was correct then I am sure it would have made worldwide news…. When has the temperature in Victoria ever reached 118 degrees??? Not in my lifetime that I can recall and never alone 125 degrees. WOWEEE now that is hot. !!!! I can’t understand why people waste their time writing such crap when they know they will be found out and people will think of them as being an absolute idiot.
  6. Pity the lights can't be erected for the price you have quoted, but there is a lot more too it than just putting up light towers, correct lighting of ovals is an expert field, there is also the light "levels"( sorry don't know the correct term) that have to be taken into consideration so no shadows are cast etc, the actual quote was for $150,000.00 and a lot of work had gone in by the firm giving that quote, and yes D/V have requested and received other quotes., so it was not just a "plucked one".
  7. Great idea, I fully support your initiative. Well done.

I have nothing else to say . WHAT absolute twaddle this post by Bisart is, they should be ashamed of themselves posting such outrageous exaggerations. Instead of putting such inaccurate twaddle on forums I believe they should put their mind to writing fiction stories, as I think with their bizarre imagination they should be able to do remarkably well. .
  9. I noticed that the TM's in China have much bigger manes than the ones in Australia. Why is that? Is there a difference in the genetics of the Australian TM's? Or have the Chinese bred the TM have much bigger manes than the original TM? I really love the huge manes. =) Do you mean the natural corded / dread lock mane or the bouffant hairdryer and hairspray coif? I don't know if it's just poufier, it looks a fair bit longer as well. But the ones in this youtube vid are good examples. http://www.youtube.c...feature=related Don't tell me they put hairspray and stuff in their hair? >.< Hi The following link might be of some help. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibetan_Mastiff#Appearance
  10. Yes that is correct, Wed 3AW after 1.00pm. WHOOOOOOOPS sorry I meant TODAY Tuesday. They have just said on 3AW he will be on now( present time here is 12.30pm)
  11. Yes that is correct, Wed 3AW after 1.00pm.
  12. Peter Hitchener will be on Dennis Walters 3AW radio show tomorrow arvo after 1pm, now he is DogsVictoria patron he will mention the pure breed dog community, make sure you all listen.
  13. Fabulous outcome, the turn up was great, standing room only, only one person spoke other than the mover and seconder it then went to the vote, and all bar 2 members voted in favour of Peter Hitchener being Patron of D/V. The meeting was all over in less than 10 minutes max. :0))
  14. What info? The info they are already providing? Their name and address? Unless they are providing false information right now, verifying their identity will not alter the data held about them. It wouldn't allow data matching that couldn't happen anyway, and it wouldn't reduce the obligation the registering bodies have under the privacy act. If breeders do not trust the registering bodies to keep their information secure, how do buyers verify who they are dealing with should the deal be disputed? Why would breeders trust the registering bodies to keep their information secure when history shows us that they dont. Its not so long ago that Dogs NSW published all of a members details in their Canine Journals - including their addresses. We were told if we didnt want that info shared to set up a P.O. Box. In fact its why we first got a P.O Box Breeder addresses were publicised when rego details and export details were. Data matching is a lot easier when you can access someone's licence number as is already proven. I cant be bothered arguing this out - its a done deal anyway and time will tell if it makes any difference. Im sick to death of being assumed potentially guilty of numerous fraudulent and cruel activities because I choose to breed registered dogs. I think there is more on the agenda that we wont see for a little while. Just backs up what we already knew some Vic dogs members are croocks and whether Jo banks comes in as Jo blogs or if they say they live on a property when they live in town is the least of their problems. Because the controlling bodies already have your information, name address etc so why not give photo ID UNLESS of course you have something to hide. And why would the VCA now decide to forward this info on and go against the Incorp act ???? THINK about what you are saying and inferring, DOGS Vic is an affiliated body with the Govt ... Inc act and they have to an do abide by their rules........ It is NOT rocket science.
  15. For god’s sake Steve and the rest of you can't you see the reason behind this action !!! you surely can't all be that dull !!!!!!!!! . As far as I can see it is not to get at members who have nothing to hide nor is it to send on info to the taxation dept or whoever else it is that you are hiding from, it is to give credibility and accountability to the members and the pure bred dog world........ DOGS Victoria members ,,,,,, nothing more nothing less and unless you and or your friends have something to hide then none of you have anything to fear.
