  1. Thank you all for your valuable advice and suggestions. I will take them both to the vet asap. Just want to clarify though, that my older dog hasn't coughed up white froth for a month now - that is ever since she's been on the new diet so I presume she's more tolerant to this than the former diet. With my younger dog, the one doing soggy poo since being on the new diet, is still at it. However, the bikkies I've only started giving to them for a week, and the soggy poo situation started way before that. Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone had similar experiences that could shed some light to the prob, however, it seems that there's no escaping a vet visit this time round. Thanks all!
  2. sorry about the confusion. Right now they're on Nutrience (been through a 3kg bag) so probably not really a month but 3 weeks or so. They use to be on Nutro but I had to swtich to Nutrience as there was shortage of stock for a couple of months back in April. Snack wise, i'm giving them Eukanuba's Healthy Choice Maintenance for Seniors. They're fairly large, long and rectagular shaped. My other dog who was vomiting white froth has no problem with the new or former diet as I mentioned, her stools are normal, and the vomitting has stopped since she's been on Nutrience, so I really have no idea if it's diet related in her case. In any case, both dogs were fine when on Nutro, so I might just switch them back for good. I know it's not good to swtich diets and hopefully I won't have to after this episode. Like I said, both dogs seem fine, normal appetite, no signs of distress or legarthic symptoms.
  3. I've just been giving them the Maintenance biscuits by Eukanuba, only one a day. Yes I shouldn't rule out that it has to do with the new diet, I've got them on Nutrience, previously on Nutro but my other dog kept throwing up white froth but is tolerating Nutrience well. The dog in question have always needed to poo at least twice a day, while my other only once a day. They're only small dogs, Pomeranians, and the one with the stool problem is 7 years old and my other 11. They're both considered senior dogs and have been on Senior diets for over 3 years now. I'm suspecting that the fibre content in Nutrience may be higher so with his past record of frequent passing of stools, this may be to do with his tolerance over the fibre, causing him to pass more and loose. I haven't taken him to see the Vet yet, but I'm thinking whether to put them back on a diet that they've been on before which from memory had no major problems. Just that, I'm trying to avoid the ones that uses meat by-products, and there's just not a great choice here in Brissie. Hey, thanks for the tips and advice though, really had me re-think about the food they're on.
  4. I changed the dry food diet of my two dogs a month ago, and they've gone through one bag now and one of my dogs have constantly (since the new diet) doing very soggy but not liquidy, almost like diarhea but not really, just real soggy at least 3-4 times a day, almost after every meal and bikky which is the only other thing I feed them. My other dog is fine, normal poo and have even stopped throwing up white froth since being on this new dry food, so she seems to be tolerating this new diet well. I'm wondering what could be the cause of soggy poo, he seems normal otherwise, not looking sick or anything. I'm ruling out that it has to do with the new diet coz he does soggy poo after anything he eats, and this has been going on for about a month. Any ideas?
  5. I agree with EllieD, really do appreciate you posting this message to clarify all misunderstanding! Thank you!
  6. Thanks for sharing that with me, I'll check out RC's website to learn more about their food. Yes, 'Gingerpuff' came to mind as my poms are ginger colour and their coats resemble a big puff...!
  7. I must say though, that my supplier was very good with my first order. The sample came within days of enquiring, then I followed on with an order which did take awhile but she explained that there was some stock or internal staff problem in NZ that caused the delay. She was very good with responding back to my queries and payment was made very easy as I just mailed her a cheque. The 6 bags of 2kgs arrived soon after, delivered promptly by courier. She kept me posted on the status of my order throughout so I must give her credit for that. It's only this time round with my second order that she seemed to have disappeared. It's not a big deal just a little frustrating, I sincerely hope that everything is ok with her.
  8. What part of Brisbane are you in and how far are you willing to travel? I live in Eight Mile Plains. However, I'm usually stranded at home with my baby boy and with no second car at home once everyone's out, it's not convenient for me to travel. After reading many reviews on Nutrience here, I might just give that a go since I live very close to the Petwise store where they stock it. Thanks so much anyway!
  9. I left a PM for Hesapandabear here on DOL, but no reply.
  10. Thank you so much for all your suggestions and advice. Am interested to find out as well.
  11. Was so anxious to get suggestions, I didn't notice this post. I just posted a message relating to Nutro, asking for an alternative brand as I'm also experiencing problems with getting hold of my usual supplier. I tried emailing her many times and even PM'd her here on DOL with no response whatsoever, leaving me feeling totally helpless at this stage. I'm already down to my second last bag and after reading this message, I think I can pretty much forget about Nutro and go with something like Nutrience since it was also recommended previously. Vilsen, thank you so much for sharing your experience, it's certainly frustrating as ultimately our dogs are the ones that have to suffer from a sudden change of diet for no good reason, or in your case, not being able to benefit from all the good that's been said about Nutro.
  12. Can't get hold of my usual supplier of Nutro and I'm down to my second last 2kg bag. I was so thrilled to have found a lovely lady who was able to send me 6 bags locally, however, with no luck reaching her, I think I may have to consider a different brand since there aren't many people/places that supply Nutro. My dogs have accepted and are doing well on Nutro so I'm a little disappointed that after less than 3 months to have to switch to another brand again. Can anyone suggest a brand that's as good as Nutro and preferably one that's available at most pet stores would be great? I've seen Nutrience sold at a nearby pet store, any good? My dogs are on senior diet for small breed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, with thanks!
  13. Actually I have the same thought that's why I was curious to know about my situation with already having applied Advantix spot on on their back/shoulder blade, whether it'll be too much. I went and bought another bottle of Troy Ear Canker Drops that's suppose to clear ear mites, have already used up a bottle as mentioned in my original post, but since both my dogs have it, I used it up quickly. I think I need to keep going for another week or so, since after some research I discovered that the symptoms takes at at least 2-3 weeks to clear completely.
  14. Just did some research online regarding Revolution for ear mites. My question is, I use Advantix spot on for flea and tick control every 2 weeks, so is it ok to use Revolution on top of that for ear mites, or do I apply it directly into the ear only? If it's ok to use then I'll have to get a box of Revolution for this purpose. Thanks again in advance!
  15. sorry...forgot to ask, can I use Advantix the same way? Ta!
