  1. you can make them out of just about any thing mine is a wooden broom handle cut down to 1m drilled a hole in one end and ties some 6mm nylon cord to the end about 1.5m long then i tie a soft leather rag (u can use a bit of towl or some hessan or old potato sack) to the end to start with then when the dog is up to the next level i tie the tug toy im going to use

when u use it just think of the rag as a rabbit and the dog has top nail it and when ur ready let the dog win the rag by keeping the cord tight give the dog a pat every now and again and praise the crap out the dog

when ur ready to end the game make the toy go limp (the prey has been killed) get the dog to relase how ever its been trained and start the game again

only do it for short burst at first to teach the game

and once the dog has been shown whats expected you can make it longer and longer

  2. get a spray bottle from the cheap shop fill it with water and lightly wet there nose and give a few spays in back corner of there mouth try not to shoot the spray direactly down the dogs throught (spel) the dog may not let you do it again if you do

  3. goldie will be right with the right guidence (spl)

tell her to visit some breeders as well as to have a look at breeder of her second choice of dog and then make her mind up

i know people wont agree but i belive any breed is suitabul for some one as long as they have the right guidence from a club or a trainer or a breeder

some one that can help with the progress it up to the owner to make this happen not every one else to make it work

  4. dutchies are like any dog there drives could be any balance but it also depends on what u pick and how u bring them up and what there lines are is to how serious they are like the malis pick the right lines and bingo

i found the fci ones are like a stronge mali except calmer in the head when they work

not sure about there home life

but i would liked to have had more time with them to make a proper opinion

i havnt worked a KNPV dutchie yet so its hard to judge the 2 yet

but its on my to do list

once i get some more time up with both types i will be able to tell u more

  5. when talking about civil work it normaly means the fight the dog brings

then there is different forms of civil depending on what drives the dog mainly works in

i hope some of the working guys/gals can chime in and take this further for you

because i suck at discribing a dogs behaviors

  6. sounds good wazzat if you dont feel like posting it could you pm it to me

what the handler did was let the dog "display"

a display is when the dog goes to the end of the lead and eather bounce or scoot side to side

by its self you would think the dog was playing just like u will see if u held your dog and used a tug toy to hype the dog up

but with the training the dogs go though they add controlled aggression IE- the barking and snarling if it wasnt controlled the dog wouldnt have passes it PSD test

also you would have noticed when the situation quitened down the handler used a shorter lead this was so he could keep the dog in play and he could still get on with what he wanted safely

any dog that can work in a crowd control situation i take my hat of to because it is a hi stress situation and shows how strong willed dog is and there training

  7. both dogs did what they were trained to do the handler of tank would have given him his watch command straight up meaning that he is to activate and any one that comes close is fair game this is for the safety of the handler

once all the comotion of the crowd settled of gone away the dog would have been put away or given his relax command

the other shep did well and i was hoping to see the dog sent up the man hole because it is a interesting thing to done due to the way they trained
