  1. I do give them sardines, the ones in water, is it better to give her the ones in oil?
  2. Meggie is 7 yrs old and seems to have slowed down a bit re exercise so we have to keep an eye on that also. Am thinking it MAY has happened before and we didn't pick up on what was happening. With six dogs pooping in the b/yard it's not easy to tell who has done what, except for Kirra our GSD her poops are quite noticable ;) The suggestion of the canned food is good, will get some today, was going to get her some Parrafin oil also, what do others think re this, would it be too harsh for her atm. Hub's is also going to start taking her for a walk each day, which will be good for both of them me thinks Thanks everyone for your great suggestions, really appreciate them
  3. She is fed the same as all the others, chicken wings, frames and mince, dry bikkies, meaty bones. She's very lazy and isn't a dog to run around and excerise ( she's NOT ya "typical JRT lol ), have suggested to hub's he start taking her for a daily walk which I am thinking may help.
  4. Hub's JRT was off colour yesterday, as the evening wore on she started to get worse, her tummy swelled up, she was lethargic and trembling all over. Quick trip to the after hours vet and NINETY bucks later we discover she is constipated. Has any one had this problem and what did you feed you dog to help prevent it. We have five other dogs atm, they are all fed the same food and by the look of the backyard none other the others have this problem.
  5. We have three 8 weeks old gsd x puppies at home atm, they are still with their mum and their siblings, the cuddle up to each other at night, they know us and our other dogs and that is their entire world. Pls remember that this is the type of world your little has just left, everything atm is strange to her and it's going to take far more than a week for her to get used to you and your enviornment. I'm a little concerned that she is out on the street and around other dogs atm, personally I would be waiting until 2 weeks after her 12 week injections BEFORE letting her walk on any ground where there have been other dogs as she really doen't have much ( if any ) immunity atm. Whilst it is great to socialise her, I would try taking it slowly, lotsa people around her can be quite confusing and distressing to her while she is so little. What she really needs atm is you, losta cuddles and re assurance and not to be put outside away from you at night she is far too little. At eight weeks she still need at least three meals a day so what is going to happen when you are not there to feed her? My suggestion is to relax and just take it a day at a time with her until she start to feel safe and secure and then gradually introduce her to the outside world, one baby step at a time.
  6. Name: Lynne Age : Old Location: Portland Vic Rescue Group: NONE Time in Rescue: N/A Who can vouch for you - Me - Those who know the story re Kirra will know how I care for my dogs Microchip YES Vaccination YES Desexing YES Heartworm test YES Worming YES Flea treatment YES Vet work if required YES Basic training/teach manners YES Dogs inside the home or outside. I have a female GSD and two JRT's who are mainly outside during the day çause that's where they choose to be. They all have excellent shelter from rain, wind etc plus a HUGE well fenced b/yard to romp in. The are all inside with us of an evening and sleep inside at night due to the cold atm, in summer they will sleep outside. I also have three 6.5 weeks old puppies who are inside all of the time unless I feel it is sunny and warm enough for them to have an outside romp with me watching of course I'm not part of a rescue group nor do I wish to join one, I am happy just grooving along by myself and helping when and where I can. I am however open to anyone meeting me or checking my dogs and b/yard etc as I have nothing to hide. Any other questions? Ask me!
  7. Our puppies wee heaps ( don't they all ) but don't seem to poo all that much. I know Kirra still cleans up the bums but I never see ANY poo at all. Is this normal pls or could they be constipated? Would really appreciate some advice from breeders etc pls
  8. Mum seems more interested in playing outside with the two other dogs during the day, she gives the bubs a quick top up and then off she goes, night time is different she gives them as much as they like. They seem happy enough and are as fat as so am guessing they are ok. Have stared putting newspaper down for them to pee on, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't but at least they don't get their bed as wet as they were.
  9. Am sending hubby of to the "big smoke" this morning to see what he can find for this little ones
