  1. Ive used it when my GSD was a pup. Came recommended from the breeder. Gave my pup terrible loose stools. The vet recommended an immediate change in diet. (I think it was to do with the grain content.) I switched to Royal Canin then to ProPlan. No problems since. I guess it all depends on how your dog reacts to the food.
  2. OMG!!! Where have you been??? How is everything going? You must come to the next meet!!! Hihi Just been off the forums for aaages ;) Everything is pretty doog, how bout you?

  4. Kaiser at 6weeks at his breeder's 8.5 weeks: 9.5-10.5 weeks: ??? between 12-16+ weeks??: 1.5years: 2.2years:
  5. We have a lake 4 blocks from our house an i have noticed more mozzies around this area than other places i have lived in. I usually have a supply of the tabs at home so i dont run out
  6. Totally agree with you there Erny
  7. I have used it on my 3 for about 1.5 years. I havent had a single problem while using it on the dogs. I have an adult male GSD, adult female GSDx a retriever of some sort, adult Greyhound. The only reason i have down graded to a monthly heartworm tablet is because I didnt want to be putting chemicals in or on their boyd unnecessarily. If they get flea problems I will deal with it then.
  8. Excellent news! He's comng home!!!!
  9. Phew! I'm so glad Radar is getting better! What a little trooper!! Sounds like you have Radar in good hands at the Vet Clinic. It always makes a huge difference
  10. There was one i used on the dogs last year that worked really well. I had used human fly repellent stuff from Coles and the "Troy" brand one from City Farmers and both were shite. I got a spray bottle with baby oil, a bit of water, a bit of Dettol and a midgen of tea tree/eucalyptus oil. (just a drop or too, dont go overboard with the oils!) Shake it up and spray on the dogs coat, avoiding the eyes. I also sprayed on their bedding and on doors, walle, floors etc where they stay outside. Worked a treat! (I got it off Wolfgirl last summer )
  11. I havent been on DOL very much lately and it was a total shock seeing this thread Run Free Ziggy. to Longclaw & OH, Norskgra and Vicsta ;) He was a very special guy :p
  12. I have fed my Kaiser RC GSD Puppy. He stopped his muchy, watery poos almost straight away I was feeding him Natural Balance (Perth variety) and he kept doing muchy, cow pat like poos I believe the Corn content was responsible for it. (In Natural Balance)
  13. Good to hear that the principle vet is setting things right. Hope Beau recovers fast!
  14. I buy the dogs: Lamb "off cuts" from Coles, they are flat, finger sized pieces of what looks like lamb ribs. Its in the human meat section. One tray is about $2.00-$3.50 ish. Bulk hamburger mince, human grade from Coles/Woolies. Chicken frames from Lennards. The Lennards in Garden City sell them for $4.00 for a bag of 10 frames or 50c each.

    Angus

I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. ;) I only found out today.... Run free beautiful Angus :D
  16. If its not something he is used to/has been on then it will most likely give him the runs. If introducing different foods, try to do it slowly or they will get an upset tummy. It can also depend on the dog as well, out of my 3 my GSD boy will either vomit up fatty foods or have loose stools. He also gets loose stools from eating kibble with a high corn content. I found all this out when he was a pup. If you can trim off as much of the excess fat from the bones you give him.
  17. I started my GSD on "Royal Canin GSD junior" and my xBreed girl on "Royal Canin Labrador" Now that I'm a relatively poor student on a budget I've swapped it for "Bonnie Puppy" for my 18 month old GSD (and my Greyhound) and "Bonnie Lite" for my xbreed, she puts on weight very easily. I havent noticed much difference. They're fine on Bonnie :p However i do give them mince, chicken, eggs, fishy stuff etc with their kibble about 3 times a week.
  18. I know exercise in humans loosens up the bowels.... Maybe similar with dogs too??
  19. That is really gross but equally hilarious! Mya occasionally eats poos too..... Not all the time, and only recently has she begun this.
  20. Kaiser will abandon his dinner for his toy. Should I try using that instead? If so how do i do it? If he does what i want him to do throw the toy?
