  1. JME, just be very careful about starting a puppy on glucosamine. I was told on good authority from a prominent Australian Vet that this supplement should NOT be given to puppies as it closes off capilaries in joints and you don't want this happening in a growing pup. A lot of dog puppies biscs. contain glucosamine...
  2. Mr Honky Junior, there will only ever be one of you Your photo's, progress and achievements will be missed by all. Run with my Wolfie Bear... My deepest sympathies to you Bella and your OH Love HM, Shadie and Mr Honky Senior
  3. This is my best friend when I wash mine: Ezybathe Pet Restraint System Keeps pets safely in place by comfortably cross-tying them while bathing, grooming, medicating etc. This portable restraint system gives that much needed extra hand allowing the use of both hands to lather, scrub, brush etc. Incredibly powerful suction cups attach to any smooth surface. One size fits all. Durable and adjustable straps. Holds up to 90kg animals. For use in bathtubs, showers, sinks and on tile floors. http://vetnpetdirect.com.au/product.php?productid=17156&cat=0&page=1

  6. Care needs to be exercised when including minerals within a canine or feline diet, since some minerals, whilst essential in small quantities, can be toxic if fed in excessive amounts. For example, the mineral iodine is needed in small amounts to prevent thyroid problems in dogs and cats but it can be detrimental to them - causing anorexia, fever and weight loss - if fed in excessive amounts. Sometimes excessive mineral levels can be fed without the pet owner realising that the potential for a problem to occur exists. For example, supplementing the diet with large amounts of kelp meal, which is very high in iodine, can result in excessive iodine intake. http://www.4legs.com.au/wellness.php
  7. Hi Kateshep I was told prong collars are illegal to use in WA??? The GSDWA has also banned the used of check/choke collars too due to recent studies of huge neck damage on dogs. Can only use a normal collar or a halti style collar on the grounds now... Have you tried a halti with her? I find they are the easiest to control a dog with... My big male was dog agressive and it worked a treat. You could always go to training at the GSDWA or the CAWA if you are near Canning Vale
  8. Hey Stacey - is that Better Pets & Gardens in Bibra Lake?
  9. For meat, there is a good pet food store on South Street (near Stock Road, Fremantle side).... Never took any notice about what else they sold, just used to buy the beef mince from them Maybe have a look in there. I just used to them up and pre-order and pick up on way home from work. They would put however many kgs I wanted in which ever size bags, 500g per bag from memory...
  10. Puppy ears always get black and dirty :S Even worse if they dig holes... I clean Hooches ears when he is very tired and not moving around. I too use cotton tips to get into the hard to clean areas and baby wipes Please post some more pics of your beautiful puppies in the GSD thread :p
