  1. I definitely aggree with KitKat on this one. Nature's gift is a great canned food - and is the only one I will use!
  2. Just a quick question... is he tethered during the day for a few hours? All the best, Josh Grant
  3. I am sorry to hear that you have been so messed around. If the papers are not with you in the next week or two - send me a pm and I will Personally talk to the breeder! I might have a little more "pull" than the average Jo. Wishing you all the best, Josh Grant P.S the breeder should have contributed money for the micro chipping and Hernia operation - again if you need help don't hesitate to contact me. Cheers, Josh
  4. I am going to start farming my own! Only thing i need to do now is to stay UNATTATCHED!! This is gonna be hard!
  5. Yes - we need updates!
  6. Hey Pewithers! would it be closer for you to go to Murwillumbah - we are having show training classes on the 1st of August - I'll find out the time tonight and I'll post it up tommorrow! :D
  7. Apple Cider Vinegar ( unpasteurised) is as well as being very good for the digestive system is extremely high in potassium. This is extremely important for bitches when whelping and I can highly reccomend it for daily use on all dogs P.S I second kelp and seaweed too! Oh and cod liver oil -
  8. Yes chicken necks are a good source of calcium and are very beneficial to her keep up the good work, Josh Grant
  9. Chicken Carcasses are fine. :p If you are looking for other meaty bones try brisket bones and Lamb flaps they have a lot of meat and are quite fibrous. If I were you I would be feeding raw egg without the shell once a week in conjunction with sardines. Kind Regards, Josh Grant Edited because I can't spell
  10. I would say coccidiosis as well - escpecially if the dog was previously kept in an environment with poultry and birds, as unless reguarly wormed they are VERY susceptible.
  11. That's interesting PW - my friend breeds/shos cockers and I have the border collies. I have not been completely satisfied with Proplan and I think I might try Caprice as well Jed- must be some truth in what I've been hearing as lots of people have said the same thing! Other than that it might be royal canin? I realise that most people don't feed solely on kibble, and that most dogs are fed a percentage of Raw foodstuffs in their diet - the diet that my dogs will be on is a little like au naturale - with a little kibble added, they don't eat too much so I am not worried how much it costs as long as it's good! i think I might give Cobber a miss!
  12. Periactin....that's the one I meant! Thanks Cavandra
  13. sorry - missed the part of "late stage of pregnancy" I hope all goes well for you and the bitch and ALL the pups find GREAT HOMES! I have heard that Cod liver oil is very good and also that a little apple cider vinegar ( unpasteurised) helps maiden bitches birth a little easier.! Good Luck and let me know how you go! I will keep my ear out for anyone looking for a rescue pup. P.S someone said that aborting a whole litter was to cruel for words: My response to this is rearing SOME rescue pups are reared to an age where they are quite independent and then the ones who do not find homes are euthanaised or alternatively allowing them to live for a few years in a home before being returned to the pound for euthanasia, by some unresponsible owner . However a previous post has led me to believe that this is not the going to be the case with these guys - and I whole heartedly support their enthusiasm and endeavour in finding ALL the pups great homes
  14. Well I will don my flame proof suit and suggest: WHAT ABOUT AN ABORTION or euthanasion of pups at birth? Sorry to bring a bit of a gloomy aspect to the post but in this case I think It would be better for the bitch and the poor puppys that will end up being PTS anyway - We have enough puppies being put to sleep already without bringing into the world anymore cross bred pups who will face this
  15. Just after people's experience with this feed. ATM I am feeding proplan-purina but I have heard very good things about Cobber's kibble. A friend of mine uses it with great success - just after a few more opinoins etc. Thanks in advance, Josh Grant
  16. iF HE IS VERY UNDERWEIGHT THERE IS A MEDICATION which is available for dogs who refuse to eat - it also doubles as a preventative for car sickness! You simply give them a tablet 30 mins before a meal and voila; they eat alot better! I will dig out the name of it for you this evening. - I think it starts with p? p.s it may be a good idea to get a vet to run over him as there may be a newly aquired health problem underlying Cheers, And all the best for you and your boy, Josh Grant
  17. Ok, if its an inguinal hernia it can be detrimental to your dog! What may of happened in this case is that a part of the bowel has slipped through the inguinal ring and caused a lump to appear - this lump is most visible when the dog is in a standing position. If left too long the inguinal ring can widen and the intestine etc. can fall in this would be extremely bad news for your puppy. I advise you to get your vet to fix it when she is desexed - that way you only have to pay for the operation not the anaesthetic aswell. If you turn your puppy over the hernia will disappear back into the body if it gets to the stage where it doesnt go back in aka. it becomes incarcerated, an emergency opperation will need to happen.
  18. Is it an umbilical hernia or an inguinal hernia? - By umbilical i mean where the belly button would be. And by inguinal I mean inbetween the back legs. Edited Because I can't spell -
  19. that's ok - me is very forgiving! :D Unless your a puppy farmer ..... then me is a TYRANT!!!!
