True dog shouldnt be off lead next to raod. Yes wild dogs are a problem for livestock and farmers do and should have the right to shoot them. But people dont have a right to drive along and shoot any stray dog they see. There is nothing in that article to suggest the dog was on or near any land or livestock owned by the shooter. Fault on both sides but i cant condone shooting a loose dog on sight by any individual passing by.

When i was there the other week he had a few trailers on his forecourt, so you could take a peak. Im on the list for puppybars and its design to meet what i want. I looked at his own car and the quality is was good.

Anyone know if the rabbit fur tugs get through quarantine here?

have you tried crocodile. Its readily available in cheaper frozen blocks from places like springvale market.

Does Frankston require to have passed their obedience classes up to a certain level or can a dog just be tested. Indi has good obedience but i am refusing to run her through club obedience classes. Have joined two but only way up is to complete the full obedience classes, and i believe them too long and boring. I was looking into the dedicated agility clubs for this reason but as has been said entry is hard. Unfortunately we miss out as too young by a week for the recent Doveton intake so will try it next time.

My weim was too strong and fast, though fortunately very accurate. I certainly had serious rope cuts. He was responsive to 'steady' though i never really trained for it, just used the word anytime he was over the top, whether it was tracking to fast, or racing around the house etc. I also used a horse lunge after one serious rope burn, it does afford you more grip with the wider band. Not ideal and frowned on by many a judge, but in training it will help you hold and slow better. Many people with strong dogs will also put the end of the lead behind their body and lean back on it. Recently i handled a freinds beginner dog in training who was way to overexcited causing her to be fast and diving side to side a lot as she wasnt focussing enough. With her we found if we did some heel sit drop attention exercise for a minute behind the start post (not looking for obedience trial standard just indication that she was listening to commands) she concentrated much better when then allowed on to the track.

Next weekend near Geelong, i assume you mean Inverleigh, is a TSD trial rather than tracking (this means the dogs already have their Tracking champion titles). The style of tracks are somewhat different. The meeting point for that trial is Victoria Park at Inverleigh, and people will disperse from there. Most trials are 2 or three days, you put in a single entry and hear in the days prior (it can be as late as the thursday) which day you are on. If you work mondays you indicate on your entry form or a note that you are unable to do mondays due to work. If there are simply not enough track for entries then they ballot, it isnt that common but some trials being smaller are more prone to it.

I looked at the ingredient list for puppy and adult and they appear the same. is this correct (other than %ages). Just curious as have been raising pup on the puppy, and occasionally the adults who are normally fed full raw have been having some as an extra. Last week i switched pup to adult and yesterday fed the adults some with their necks. Noticed my adult boy has a hot spot this morning, previously about 3 years ago we found these were linked to chicken livers in his raw diet, and have been free of them since. Just wondered if there is a link with the change from puppy to adult.

short term to stop escaping maybe see if a local kennel does day boarding, drop him/them off on way to work pick up after work?
