  1. What about Flyball? we would like to see you bring along the little Staffy to the Surf Stormers Flyball club on the Central Coast. Check out Surf Stormers Flyball We train at Warnies Cafe Warnervale, 9.30am each two weeks, next session tomorrow 23rd. Regards, John
  2. Hello, Has anyone organised and performed an exhibition of a dog sport i.e. agility within a park or reserve that is deemed as crown land? Just wondering what permissions were required in order to do this? Regards, John
  3. Well, the weather at St.Ives turned out to be quite bad for the Festival but cleared enough at a few of our Flyball session times to adequately put on a display for the crowd that braved the conditions. The dogs did not seem to notice and after deciding on safe conditions for them put on two displays during the day which were great fun for all concerned. The third session was cancelled as dangerous for the dogs. Special mention must be made of Colin who travelled with his champion dogs 'Hayley & Angus' from Newcastle and also Craig with his beautiful dog 'Gidget' from Bankstown, both Colin & Craig indeed show great spirit for the sport and participate regardless of what points or titles are on offer and once committing themelves to an event stick to their word. I am currently organising a Flyball Day for the challenged kids at Camp Breakaway and will post details soon on that. Thanks to all that participated on Sunday and Ku-ring-gai council for their invitation. Regards, John
  4. Just a note that werriwa is not attending the St.Ives festival, they let me down and pulled out during the week citing a bad weather forecast!!! what commitment and respect for the hosts organisation of the event!! No matter, the Stormers will be there unless the event is cancelled.
  5. Where are you located, probably best to take him along to a flyball training session to get him assessed for Flyball. He will have to like jumping and is desirable that he have some ball drive i.e. picking up a static ball, not thrown. Regards, JB Im located at Fairfield sydney's west, and we have a club called deerbush dog training club behind fairfield showground. I thought Deerbush had a Flyball team at that club? otherwise take a look at the AFA web site www.flyball.org.au and check the clubs link. Maybe PICSI club at Parramatta nearest to Fairfield. Regards, John

  9. Cheerleading for Flyball is on tomorrow 9.30am at Warnervale Warnies Cafe where the Flyball dogs are training. Check out the Stormers site at www.surfstormers.org Next event is Ku-ring-gai Council's 'Festival on the Green' Sunday June 15. Would be great to see some kids come along and join in the fun of cheerleading and support the dog team. Regards, John
  10. Yes the cheer squad is great, the kids really work hard to put on a good display for our crowds at events. Actually cheerleading is a very athletic sport and quite competitive and governed by the Aust.Gymnastics Association. i am hoping that our little cheer squad 'The Surf Stormettes' will go on to competing in a regional event for cheer when they are ready. They all love the dogs and the dogs really love hearing their names chanted out. It is great to see at training where the cheer squad is training to their music tunes and the dogs are training at flyball, everyone engaged in healthy activity and having fun. A very pleasant way to spend a few hours. Would love to see some more kids coming along to join the cheer sqad, so kids talk your Mums around to bringing you along on the 26th April to Warnies Cafe. Regards, John
  11. Hi ALL, We would like to see some more doggies with good ball drive and just some basic obedience to come along to our training sessions for Flyball on the Central Coast with the Central Coast Surf Stormers. We have a great training spot at Warnies Cafe right next to the Warnervale train station. Training begins at 9.30am on a Saturday morning fornightly. We have several exercises for the dogs and handlers to perform all geared towards achieving a reliable flyball dog. We are not really about competition but prefer to have fun at demonstration events for councils, school fetes, markets and private functions of which we attend many throughout the year. In particular we need kids to come along and join our cheerleader squad, the 'Surf Stormettes', we have a young lady who leads the cheer squad and teaches them pom-pom routines and chanting and dance where they cheer and support the dog team, the crowds at events love them. Would be great to get some kids 5yrs to teens coming along to join in. Our next event is Ku-ring-gai Council's Festival on the Green June 15th where our cheerleaders will perform a display and support the Stormers Dog team. Our next training session is Saturday 26th April. Check out web site www.surfstormers.org or call me on 0407 435 699 Regards, John
