We are still here but I have been exhausted with work and trying to get more than 5 hours sleep. Coming off weekends now so no more excuses.
Daisy, you have joined the "interesting" walk brigade hope you are not too sore.

2 dogs semi rural but burbs are encroaching.

Another quick spin around the local showgrounds for us tonight.
Cuchulain, it all sounds a bit scary, good on you for keeping up Max's walks. Hope you find somewhere that is safe to walk, It make me appreciate my area where I feel safe enough to walk the dogs at 9 or 10pm. Having said that I do keep to the main roads.
-
We returned to pounding the pavements last night. Much safer that way. No more swimming for a while for either of us! Besides the Boys are off being washed and groomed today.
Daisy, Hugo sounds much improved.
Cuchulain, your neighbourhood sounds a bit feral. Having to run the gauntlet every time you walk Max must be painful.

Wow !! That woman's eyes were obviously painted on. Abbie is a gorgeous puppy Robbi

Well we missed a few days due to more thunderstorms and work.
Tonight we got back into it, I met my friend at the park and walked the dogs, then I had an impromptu swim when one of my dogs got his tail caught in a blackberry in the dam/lake at the park. He had of course swam to an area that wasn't accessible from the bank. So in I went fully clothed. Never has dog walking been so interesting!!!
My friend thought it was hysterical.

LC: Head down Plenty Rd to the Bypass, head towards Heidelberg and Burke Rd. Once you are on Burke Rd follow it until the end at the Princes Hwy. Once at the Princes Hwy go straight across. You will see Monash Uni's Caulfield Campus it should be on your right, I think there is a park/oval on the left then turn left at the little roundabout continue on under the railway bridge and you will see Caulfield Racecourse. I used to do this trip frequently you have to go through Camberwell Junction and Burke Road can be a bit slow at times. Trying to get from north to south can be a pain sometimes. I would leave at least an hour for the trip
Alternatively try Hoddle St/Punt Rd and the Princes Hwy

Classic!!!

Well we walked at 7am yesterday. Dogs got a run with my friend's dogs for about 45mins.
Today I planned an afternoon walk but we had thunderstorms from about 2pm until about 8.30pm. The first one was so loud it felt like it was over the top of the house. The dogs have pretty much spent the day inside. When I ventured out at 3pm to go shopping there was a dead dog on the side of the road a couple of doors down, victim of the storm and the 100km road I live on. It had no ID so rang the council. I am so glad my dogs aren't scared of thunderstorms.
-
Ooohhh, off to stock up tomorrow.
Thanks

Yesterday was a dead loss and today I hadn't planned to walk them because I had been outside in the garden all day and the dogs spent the day running around and jumping in and out of their clam shell so I figured they had got enough exercise, then my friend rang who I sometimes walk with so they got a run up the park and a swim.
Saturday we walked around the market and they had a swim in the Yarra.
Tomorrow I plan to get up and walk with my friend as she will be walking at 7am, not a morning person, so hopefully if I put here it will be extra motivation
-
Glad today was better Cuchulain, the walk you described sounds like a nightmare.
Was very hard to get motivated yesterday with the cold and drizzle, gotta love Melbourne's weather!!! So we went for a quick spin around the local showgrounds.
This morning we are going to visit a dog friendly market, close to a river and off leash area so I will the boys will get a good run and swim.
Tomorrow will be a wipeout as I have a 10 hour turn around on shifts and barely have enough time to sleep let alone walk the dogs, sometimes my dad will drop in and walk them if I'm not there. So will check back in on Monday. Happy walking everyone!

Another with tears
Beautiful beautiful tribute. RIP Rocco.

Hi
I am going to join you, I have been lurking in this thread and using it to motivate myself, over the last fortnight I have managed to walk my dogs 10 days which has been a vast improvement compared with before Christmas.
We have been doing a lot of on lead walking and are all benefiting including myself. I have two BCs by the way, one of which is a real couch potato who stay inside all day if he could.
Anyway I am off to walk again before I go to work
-
RIP Reg you fought so hard. :D
Condolences to his owner and Indigirl. Ratsac poisoning can be so insidious.
-
Congratulations, nothing like a BC puppy for cuteness overload, love the name!

Dr Chaing on Sydney Rd near Moreland Rd
Phone: 93835199
Excellent Vet and very reasonable.
After he was recommended to me, as I don't live in the area, I found that several friends who lived around Coburg also used him and were very happy.
-
This is truly tragic. Condolences

I have been happy with the groomer at Petstock in McDonald's Sth Morang, before that I used a groomer in Eltham, next to the Eltham Stockfeeds.
-
I took my older BC (He's 4 and has some obedience training) to Planet K9 in Epping last year, just as a refresher, they use positive methods. As I work shift work they were very accommodating as to what day I attended and we actually did a combination of classes because he was a little more advanced than some of the dogs. He had a ball with the agility equipment and benefited from the one on one interaction with me.
I did plan to continue with their agility but as the classes that were suitable for us were in North Melbourne, and it was difficult for me to attend on a regular basis, due to the distance and time.
Give them a call and talk to them they are very approachable.
I had no problems with them

These slugs are the good guys of the garden world. They eat the pesky snails, less snails, less chance of the puppy bringing them inside. The only time I have seen them is at night and when it is damp. My mum who is a mad keen gardener loves them.
-
This is probably a Leopard slug, they are identifiable by their spots and stripes. They are excellent for you garden as they will eat snails and smaller slugs.
