  1. Is it a Qld Breeder? according to the Dogs Qld rules they have to transfer the dog into your name within 14 days of it going to your place.
  2. Email received this morning from Dogs Qld. I refer you to a notice that has been received by the Dogs Queensland Office from the Brisbane City Council, the contents of which I ask you to take note of. Please CLICK HERE to view the notice. I further refer you to an email sent from Dogs Queensland on 5th June in regards to Camping at the Dogs Queensland Sports Grounds at Durack (the Showgrounds) and especially clause 4 of that email that I reproduce below; 4. Members who choose to tent camp outside of the designated area, or to camp in a vehicle will do so at their own risk and Dogs Queensland will not be liable for any loss suffered by those members. Additionally, as this will be in breach of the BCC camping approval granted to Dogs Queensland, members who do so may put Dogs Queensland at risk of losing its current BCC approval and jeopardise future applications for BCC camping approvals. Due to the actions of Members in ignoring the above direction, Dogs Queensland is now at a real risk of losing its current approval and jeopardising any future applications for approval for Caravans, Campervans, Winnebago's, etc. Consequently, Dogs Queensland has been left with very little alternative but to advise all Members that anyone arriving at the Showgrounds this weekend with an intention to Camp in anything other than a Tent in a pre-booked Camping Site will be turned away at the Gate. Similarly, at the conclusion of the Shows on Saturday and Sunday, anyone with an intention to Camp in anything other than a Tent in a pre-booked Camping Site will be asked to leave the Grounds. Consequently, anyone with a pre-booked Tent Camping Site should have their printed permit with them at all times. It is likely at this stage that a Security Guard will be employed to ensure these directions are complied with. Tent Camping Sites are still available for this weekend, all bookings are to be made through the Show Manager website, showmanager.com.au and we thank them greatly for their assistance in developing this booking system. Please familiarise yourself with the following documents (click on each one to view): Camping Policy Evacuation Plan Booking Instruction Sheet

  13. Did you find out who signed for it? Knowing Australia post someone probably put it in the wrong box and the owner of that box signed for it.
  14. How did they loose it if it never got to them?
  15. They already do this in Qld Do they? Is the information available to the public? Not sure all I know is when you buy a new pup from ont of their breeders they send you out a questionaire
  16. This is a great idea, perhaps we should be pushing the state associations to allow for puppy buyers to provide feedback - The association could send out forms much like car manufacturers do when you get a car - asking for feedback as to the standard of the car dealer as well as for servicing. Even offering the first year free membership of the association to the new puppy buyer as an incentive, thus perhaps increasing membership for the future. Nowdays as membership has to have photo id means that unethical breeders would not be able to put in false forms to stack this system. Feedback ratings could then be given to breeders by the association - general comments from these then because available for the public to view. This would create a positive approach to breeders and Associations can then make recommendations to public - rather than trying to highlight the negatives. They already do this in Qld
  17. Are you sure you sent it to the right address [email protected] I have never had a problem getting a reply to emails. Camping is NOT allowed at Durack officially or unofficially due to local council regulations. The last report was that they were going through the process of getting approval for camping but it had not come through. NO but I did find out that camping is unofficially allowed so that is the plan at this stage. Dogs QLD are beyond useless - not even the curtesy of replying to my email - Bad Form!!!!
  18. I rang the office a few weeks ago about the same thing and was told that the papers are part of the dog and they must be registered no if's but's or maybe's.
  19. Browsing the website for a show date I came accross a message from the Prez of Dogs Qld. Everyone in Dogs Qld should read it so here is the link http://www.dogsqueensland.org.au/News.aspx?id=376
  20. From the Dogs Qld Rule Book Rule 36f. The application for registration is accompanied by a duly completed service certificate which must be signed at the time of stud by both parties.
  21. The office staff may not have had access to the summary or minutes of the ANKC meeting, but as this change does not come in to effect until 1/1/12 they still have time to catch up. So you can see where the regulation has been amended, From the summary - http://www.ankc.org.au/Conference-Summary-2009.aspx 4 * ANKC Ltd Regulations Part 5 - Amendments It was resolved to amend/add the following sections/clauses in Regulations Part 5:• Amend Clause 7.7; 7.7 Championship Points System (05/99) (11/11) The owner of a dog registered with the ANKC Ltd which: (a) wins not fewer than four Challenge Certificates/Best of Breed Certificates under not fewer than four different Judges at four different exhibitions; and (10/99) . (b) gains a total of 100 points may apply for such dog to be known as a Champion. Points shall be allotted for exhibits six (6) months of age and over exhibited in a General Class as follows: The old 7.7 7.7 Championship Points System (05/99) The owner of a dog registered with the ANKC Ltd which: (a) wins not fewer than four Challenge Certificates/Best of Breed Certificates under not fewer than four different Judges at four different exhibitions; and (10/99) (b) gains a total of 100 points, of which twenty five (25) of these points are gained after the age of twelve (12) months; may apply for such dog to be known as a Champion. Graham That may be so but isn't it the old rule nothing is official until the office is notified and the changes published in the magazine
  22. I spoke to Dogs Qld yesterday about this and was told that there was definatley no change to the 25 point rule for Aust Champ titles NOTE that the 25 points after the age of 12 months is no longer required ;)
  23. The thing that I hear around the traps is that the controlling bodies don't do enough to promote showing. But from experience i found that alot of it has to do with peoples attitudes Both showers and breeders. The comments I have heard at shows made to newbies and others in general are enough to drive a lot of people away. Some of the comments I have heard are things like She only won cause she is a whore, He only one because he is a friend of the family, (to a newbie)That dog has no rigth to be here it is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. Do you also realise how hard it is to get a dog on the main register to show even if you have been showing for a while? When I talk to friends and form my own experience trying to find a new show dog 70% of the breeders must be putting everything they breed on the limited register. So what is the point of the ANKC spend millions on the promotion of shows ect if you are unable to buy a dog that can be shown. Come on people the reason numbers are declining is we are cutting our own throats.
  24. It is up to the breeder but that sounds about right. I would contact the Lab Club in your State. They should be able to give you an indication
