  2. Do people really pay that much money for a blue dog ??
  3. Yes I am in the Shoalhaven, so I will see what they say to my email before I call them. I just worry about the backlash from her if/ when I do it lol
  4. Hi Dasha Feeding every couple of days is abandonment in my eyes.
  5. I have just sent my local pound an email asking holding times and a I WILL PAY UP FRONT (lol) fee. I will see what they come up with. I doubt very much she would save her from the pound when she was only ever feeding her a handful of necks ?? I just hope they let me visit her everyday I dont want her to suffer locked in a kennel x
  6. Yes, I agree and feeling used as well. I have her mobile number ( and she has mine) I may give it another few days and see is there is any contact She keeps tell me the dog is worth $3000 ??? and unfortunately (if I believe her) there is no way I could afford to pay that But many thanks for your advice and time xx
  7. Hi Guys Just wondering if anyone can provide me with legal advice in relation to this matter Three weeks ago my next door neighbor( who is renting) left her home and is staying somewhere else ( I dont know why) and she isnt allowed dogs. She left in the backyard a young 6month old puppy. She was returning every couple of days to collect clothes but I dont know if she was feeding the pup. So, I did. Under the fence I would give it water and kibble, well it dug a hole and came over, as you do lol. A couple of days later she returned and I told her the pup was safe in my yard, she came over and proclaimed her love for the pup (lie), how she walked it and fed it all the time (lie) She said where she was staying wouldnt allow dogs, I said I would mind it until she could take it back. She asked me not to walk it or introduce it to anyone ??? She wanted it aggressive and kept going on about how expensive she was !!! Anyway to cut a long story short, she has visited three times in total and I havent seen her in a week, no mention of helping with care or food etc. Im falling in love with this pup. I want to keep her and train her but I cant because I dont own her. I dont know if she has had any needles, she is very thin so may have worms. She is such a beautiful gentle soul who just wants a family and love My question is how can I keep her I would presume she is microchipped in her name and the vet has already said (over the phone) that I would have to surrender her. Can anyone think of anything else I can do. I dont want her going to her for another round of neglect Many Thanks xx
  8. ok......consultation with Behaviour specialist(?) booked for Tuesday...Vet says she is the picture of health, wish me luck guys lol Huski..."molly" and I are located in the shoalhaven NSW South Coast Also many thanks for all your help xxx
  9. Molly came to live with us at 8 weeks, started puppyschool and then obedience at 4 months She is totally different to my gentle soul border collie, a full on dog I just want our friends to see how beautiful she can be
  10. A lady had her and siblings advertised in the local paper. I went over and met mum, dad and aunty as well as most of her brothers and sisters. Barked at when I approached, but once I was inside all was ok and the ball was located for a quick game. So I was satisfied with her upbringing. Well looked after and cared for So I dont think it was an issue The problem starting about 2 months ago
  11. Hi guys I am looking for some advice. "molly" is my 9 month old desexed female cattle dog pup. She has the most gently nature and she adores me, my husband and my grand daughter. So there lies my problem. We are the only people she has decided to tolerate. Anyone else comes to visit she is out of control. She barks fiercely and has even snapped at the odd person. Before I go on, nothing has ever happened to her to mistrust anyone... She is very protective of us three, when attend obedience, she is tolerant, but mindful...we walk the crowded streets, she is wary, maybe a bit anxious..but tolerant, until they get too close I need her to learn the difference between friend and foe lol. Our visitors offer her treats and she will stretch her neck out so far to take it Im thinking she will bust a vertebrae. She takes the treat then retreats to behind my legs. I have asked visitors to ignore her and just pay attention to my 8 year old Border collie who just loves everyone, doesnt make any difference So.... here I am looking for some advice, I really want friends to see what a beautiful clown of a pup she is and not the ogre she becomes when people come over Any advice would be greatly received Many Thanks
  12. Thats great and thank you at least there is light at the end of the tunnel....Its 5am and my Border and I are sitting here with coffee, watching this little thing fly around the yard, full of beans. The look on his face is total disgust, its classic lol
  13. Just wondering if anyone could offer me a little advise. I have a 7 year old Border Collie (male), last week I brought home an 8 week old red Cattle Dog (girl). Hoping my boy wouldnt mind, after all he loves everyone and everything and there is not a mean bone in this dog's body...or so I thought. He totally ignores this pup, walks away when she enters the room, comes inside the house, when she goes outside. If a dog can have his noise out of joint, then this is it. I am not trying to force any major relationship, be happy for tolerance. I have tried everything. He is fed first, played with and walked as usual. He favorite, Car trips, are still happening and when I come home from work, he is always greeted first. My problem is he snaps at her if she comes to close and you know puppies...bounce,bounce,bounce...and more snapping. I am worried that he will hurt her, which is something I didnt think I would have to worry about with my boy. I would appreciate any advice you may have, that will make things easier for all. Please dont worry, these dogs are NEVER left alone together, the puppy has a large secure pen that she stays in when I am out and also they are NEVER fed together, they also have their own toys that I use to play with each of them
  14. Hi He is fed Coprice kibble and usually chicken necks/ backs etc Thanks for the comment regarding sardines, I was hoping they wouldnt do him any harm I have on the odd occasion, giving him some Pal kibble or super coat, but we have suffered for it afterwards ( itching) so I find Coprice helps keep things a bay
  15. Hi My lovely 3 year old Border Collie male, has a terrible itch. I usually feed him a tin of sardines, three times a week and he has the most beautiful coat, but......... if I stop the sardines, he starts to itch, constantly scratching and even resorting to using the fence palings !!!!! Any suggestions before we go to the vets Many Thanks
  16. Morning Thanks for your wonderful response We are off this morning to check out the local training club, cant wait. I know he will be so excited Thanks again xx
  17. Many Thanks for that, yes, I think he will have to have a lot of patience with me also, but I cant wait to start. He always needs to be busy so hopefully I can hold his attention long enough Wish me luck
  18. Afternoon all Just wondering if I could get your opinion on a little matter I have a 3 year old Border Collie, who, without bragging, loves to please and learn new things ( although he has his dumb moments) is this too old to start obedience/agility. He knows basic obedience - sit, stay, drop, come, stay and finish Would love to hear your opinion Many Thanks xx
  19. Hey Thanks for your suggestions. Being a BC he does have a tendency to become bored with games, unless he is chasing something, like his old friend that he lost Maybe I did give him a look, but definitely not intentionally We will work on the running away and treats, to see if that changes the game Having lost his friend, he is a bit lost and I am thinking of getting him a companion, cant decide what though.... Its only been a month do you think I am moving too fast or should I leave it a little while??
  20. Morning, Probably only a minor problem but BC (12mths) has just decided he cant play ball anymore...... He still chases it, brings it halfway back, drops it and then returns to me?? I refuse to go and pick it up and until now he used to go back and get it "oh, I forgot it" , now he justs nudges me as if to say "you go" The game comes to a halt as we have a battle of wills, but it still leaves me feeling bad because it used to be one of his favourite games I have tried shortening the distance but still have the same result.......driving me insane, any suggestions? Ps He did loose his Collie friend (13) a month ago so dont know whether that has anything to do with it???
