  1. I hope it doesn't become too common, its so cruel to be limited with what you can do for them.
  2. My deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to you groupfive. I had to make the same agonizing decision two days ago. Our little girl is 18 months old and her count got down to 30 however her Spleen had swollen to double its size. Our vet was keen to do a blood transfusion and remove the spleen. At almost the same time her spleen seemed to grow, she was unable to hold herself up in her back legs. She was still able to move them and her tail so she was not paralysed but the vet thinks a clot must have lodged in her spinal cord or a nerve and that has made her unable to regain her strength. After a week on cortisone and full time vet care she wasn't improving and starting to go downhill. The hardest part is whilst on the cortisone she was still her normal happy self, I hope I don't ever have to make this decision again for such a young dog, but I hate to see them in pain. My thoughts are with you, and I'm sorry to hijack your post.
  3. Hi Oceanaussi Used to have a Single Cab Rodeo, with a Vinyl canopy that I could slide on and off, inside the dogs were enclosed in a home built dog box. There were two vents that you could open at the front of the canopy when driving long distances, however when doing short drives I would actually roll all three sides up and let the dogs have the wind in their fur. This suited my situation and there are so many colours to choose from in the vinyl. I did have to get the frame made seperately to the canopy but it wasn't really too much of a hassle. I have now upgraded to a Dual cab Hilux and will be looking to get a new canopy made, will stick with the vinyl again. Will look for a photo and post for you later.
  4. We have a couple of neighbours who can't hear their barking dogs over their air cons. We only have fans so we get to hear it all and it upsets my other half a lot. I have somehow learned to put up with it. However I do get upset when they go away for extended periods of times and leave their dogs at home being fed and watered by a friend once a day. They really start to guard the yard then and you can bet you are in for some rough nights when this happens. The poor dogs just can't understand why they have been left at home. Ignorance is how some people cope with their lives!
  5. Absolutely gorgeous photos DA, Snowy Mountains is at the very top of my holiday destinations, Man From Snowy River being an all time favourite film. The landscape and brumbies are just divine. Very envious!!!
