  1. My user name has been their names all the time I was on here. But unfortunately we had Misha PTS 12th feb 2018 after she went downhill with dementia. She was just shy of 14 yrs. Funny little old Milo went to join her at rainbow bridge on the 4th April 2019 at the ripe old age of just over 15 years. My son Josh misses his little buddy terribly as they were mates since Josh was 12 years old. Josh is now 24 years old. We got Milo as a little rescue when he was three years old from Melbourne dog rescue from the Mildura pound. He had a great life with us. But things did change when Misha left us. We did get a little foxy cross from animal aid to help him cope but he only humped her once and that was it. He ended up with so many things wrong with him that we always thought Misha would have outlived him. He had a heart murmur , cushings , seizures , dementia, blindness and allergies to certain foods. We had planned that when the time was near we would spoil him rotten with the foods he wasn’t allowed to have. But unfortunately it wasn’t to be. He went from one day being Milo pacing around in little circles to the next day not knowing us at all or where he was. The only good thing that came out of this was that he didn’t know what was happening on the day but we did. I tried to prepare my son last year that Milo was on borrowed time. But on the day he told me there was nothing that could have prepared him for this. When Misha got her wings it didn’t really upset him as she was my dog. But Milo was always his. He wanted us to bring Milo home so he could spend more time with him as he felt guilty for being on his computer instead of playing with him. But the fantastic vet at Wandin explained that animals don’t perceive time like us. Just the love and affection we give them. Fly free Misha and Milo. Forever young running thru those beautiful green grass acres up there. Till we meet again. ❤️❤️
  2. ????????????????????????????????. I too saw this on Facebook.....
  3. Hi, Got an appointment at 4pm not at my usual vet as he wasn't there so they sent me to the other vet here in Corowa. As its a little country vet they can't do the bloods till Monday. His heart is fantastic for his age ( 10 yrs) and temp normal. They were able to get urine and check for diabetes and they don't think that's the problem. Don't think it's thyroid as heaps of energy running around. Has put on over 2 & a half kilos. They think it could be cushings ?? Or hormonal ? But until the blood tests on Monday not sure. But they can do the tests and get the results straight away. Hopefully we will have answer soon.
  4. Thank you both for your replies. He's over 10 years old.. Hopefully we can make him as comfortable as possible with whatever the out come is.
  5. HI, My little cross bred dog Milo has strange things going on about him that I can't explain. He has always been a regular little guts and would eat anything and everything if given half the chance. He has to be on Eukanuba Response from the vets and he is chicken intolerant. If he has anything at all with a the slightest bit of chicken in it he breaks out into sores has the runs and is throwing up. I have worked out just recently the reason he was putting on weight was Misha would have what she thought was enough and walk off from her bowl and milo would charge over and scoff what was left. So the last 3 weeks I have been feeding Misha in the house and Milo in the yard. BUT he has not lost weight but as I have discovered got fluid build up at the top of his front legs on his body. Two pouches they feel like. He is still very happy and eating but I have noticed that he is panting a lot even when its not a hot time of day/night. His breathing seems a little different at night as well. He is still weeing normally and drinks a lot though and I have put it down to the dry food. I have done them in the past cooked rice, vegies and people tuna mixed together with gravy just so Milo got to have something different for a change. I am taking him to the vets as soon as I can get him in tomorrow. Just curious if anyone else has ever had a dog similar??

  11. Wow. I have a friend that has a Maltese that's 20yrs old that comes over and plays with Milo and all they do is "dirty dancing " together. I swear Misha looks at them shocked.
  12. Just a quick question. By memory the tigers are behind the thick glass walls aren't they at Taronga Zoo ?? I was there last nov ( 2012) loved it as the time before that was in 1977. It has changed so much ( for the animals better. No more cement cages) love your photos. I got some decent pics of the tigers also. Keep it up.
  13. Can't remember their name but there is a place in werribee and rowville.
