  1. I recently bough a set of whahl KM SS, they have been great. does any body use the stainless steel guide combs, on my old clippers I only had the plastic ones but the Stainless steel ones are great, just wondered how others found them to use??

I love my stainless steel guard combs although they are quite flexible so if the get knocked the will bend the teeth, i have replaced a few over that past 12 months but they go through the coat really smooth and don't fly off of they snag.

  2. i usually buy a HEAP of cans every few months, checkout chics must think i have a problem

I know what you mean, they give me a strange look when i come in loaded with tins of sardines..

Had a lady at one of those beauty stands (the ones that sell mineral mud etc) nearly fall over when i said i use the mud packs on my dogs!

  3. How, and where do you get his focus while he is coming in? At what point are you rewarding?

Is it formal recall training for trialling ? Is he anticipating the finish?

He is anticipating the finish i think..

I reward when he is sitting straight in front of me, i hope to trial him once i know his recall is solid.

He can do a perfect recall one day and then the next he is all over the place. (eg Saturday absolutely perfect, wednesday he was a mess)

  4. Hi Guys,

Thought l would just share, anyone out there that has a breed with an undercoat, have found a curry comb, used on horses, is just fabulous to remove loose hairs. Let me know if you have the same success as l. I1m a proud owner of a Siberian Husky.

I use a horse curry comb to wash all double/heavy coated dogs that come into the salon, removes so much loose coat and really helps to scrub the dogs clean.

  5. Personally I never found anything that got rid of it .... the only thing I could suggest is to find out whats causing the licking and treat it (maybe something more than Malaseb is needed ?) then let the stained coat grow out and clip it off :D

I have found from grooming, if the dog keeps licking the area the staining will always remain.

Malaseb seems to fix the problem, we know what it is but can't find the source. We had the itching under control for 12months but just in the last couple of weeks it seems to have started to reappear. The vets monitor him for itching but it is not severe enough yet for medication.
