  1. Opps, thanks for that. Its my first posting something and i have done it wrong already!
  2. Hi, I have a 1 year old ridgeback. In the last week he has been passing stools with a few drops of bright red blood. The few drops comes out first and then followed by his stool. There is no blood mixed up in the stool, just a few drops before it comes out. A few weeks before hand he has a chronic case of diarrhea, but all seem to clear up after a week and some drugs from the vet. He seems totally normal. The blood drops only started last week. I have taken him to the vet- she is getting me to put him on a special diet, but shorly this could not be causing him to bleed. He has been on the same diet ever since we brought him hom and i have not changed his food. Anyone had the same problems????
  3. Hi, I too own a ridgeback..... and when we first brought him home did exactly the same thing for about 2 weeks until we brought his create into our room. I know exactly how you feel and i got to the stage of wanting to take him back. We started putting him in the garage with his bed, but he cried- sreamed you name it he did it- all hours of the night. We both has sleepless nights for 2 weeks, as i sought everyones advice and was told the same thing to tough it out. But he did not seem to improve. We brought he create into out room and ever since then he has slept right through the night. For a while he would wake us up to go to the toilet, but now he can hold his bladder he sleeps all night. He just wanted to be with us. We also went through months of crying outside when we went to work and tried everything we possibly could. He was the happiest little thing when we were home with him, but did not like being left alone. He is now 1 year old and much better being on him own, we got a dog door only a few months ago- which made the biggest difference- now he feels like we have not left him when we go to work. Ridgebacks are at their happiest when they are with you. He goes everywhere with us, but hates being left on his own. I spoke to my breeder about this and she said it was a ridgeback stait- especially with the liver noise. I know how you are feeling- but it will get better over time.
