  1. thanks for the reply guys. After i wrote the post i was with her all day making sure she was drinking and comfortable and later on in the day she started walking around again and ate a little bit of food. This made the alarm bells stop ringing so much so I saw the Vet the next morning who conveniently is downstairs from my work. He said pups do get a reation from the vaccine, some more than others, Just depends on how their bodies cope with getting rid of the viruses. But now shes better than ever. She even went for her first walk down the street and loved it!! :D
  2. Kody went in for her second vaccination on saturday morning. She seemed fine through saturday and sunday but this morning she didnt touch her food, which would be the first time in her life. She seems very weak and is sleeping a lot. She is a malamute and now 12 weeks old and today is VERY hot so i dont know if heat is playing a role in her sickness. She also vomited once and has dhiorreah, its a yellow/brown colour. I'm keeping food away from her and giving her 'lactade' to hydrate. Anyone had the same problem after the second vaccination or has any idea what it might be
  3. i agree with ness. My pup has lived most of her life with 2 fully vaccinated dogs and shes fine. You just have to make sure your parents unsocial dog doesnt have the Archie special for dinner
  4. I took my pup to the park on the weekend for a short time (10 minutes) because we cant leave her home alone while we walk out other dog. she sits at home and squeels REALLY LOUD! I didnt even know what parvo was or what it did till another dog owner explained it to me down there. So i quickly took her home and straight to the backyard! The fast facts i found are puppies are most vulnerable (some breeds more than others), dont take out in public until 7-10 days after 3rd vaccination (some debate this), lives in soil for up to 7 months, water and bleach kill it,most common symptoms are vomiting, and stinky stinky dhirrohea, and last but not least parvo is a dog owners worst nightmare p.s sorry to hear about your loss and i hopefully you can get another puppy really soon
  5. Yeah she seems fine if she gets fed later. She is 11 weeks and weighs 12kgs and is half the size of our husky already, and eats her dry food in under 30 seconds and just wants more and more and more and more and more and more!
  6. Hey everyone! I have an 11 week old alaskan malamute. During the day when im at work my girlfriend has been feeding her 3-4times a day. Now she is back at uni so every monday the pup is home alone with our husky for 9 hours so we cant feed her. There may be other days where she could miss some meals. I cant leave down food because she will eat the whole lot all at once. Does it matter if they go that long without eating? and any suggestions on what i could do e.g bigger breakfasts, i dont want to leave out bones or treats incase she and the husky have a fight over them while im away.
