  1. Glue on a dogs ear! do you know how sensitive dogs skin is this could burn! Try using blunstone oil (nugget) Put a big chunk on the tip of each ear, show ring tip
  2. Try Citronella! dogs hate the smell, just mix a small amount with water and put in a spray bottle spray it on something the dog likes chewing and see how you go.
  3. All hills product have a refund policy Refund even if the bag is opened and even if your dog just doesn't like the taste. Take it back!
  4. Puppies can have vaccination reactions. If he is still off colour tomorrow take him back to the vet. It is also a good idea to let your vet know at his next vaccination and they can give him an injection of niramine to prevent reactions again. This kind of reaction after vaccinations could continue for the rest of his life otherwise It is also quite common for animals to be flat and lethargic and slightly off their food for a short period of time after vaccinations. Remember vaccinations are a boost of the diseases they are preventing so this could be why... Hope this helps
  5. Yeah i agree, processed and full of salt! Not good for your doggies teeth either
  6. Hills science diet r/d -reduction diet Tell your nan to bulk up the meals with bran or something remember this coud lead to diabetes, arthritis etc Losing that bit of weight could ad years and comfort to her life :D
  7. Hills science diet have breed specific diets available
  8. Just a quick hint! ice cream and gravy are high in fat this can lead to pancreatitis and a really sick pooch! Get him back to the vet dehydration is rapid in animals!
  9. Supermarket foods are made in bulk- this means what they say is in the bag is actually in the whole container they make to fill 100 bags. Meaning your bag of pedigree might be from the bottom container more minerals less meat or on the other hand from the top containing more fat and less nutrients. Feed a premium diet either -advance -eukanuba -hills These contain an entire meal with everything they need. They have a dental claim and reduce the amount of stools! (bonus!) Puppy's should start on kibble puppy or wet food from 8-12 weeks of age. Another pointer is to try and maintain a 90% dry food diet to 10% everything else example 1 cup of dry food morning and night and 1 treat a day or bone etc. Dry food has an abrasive affect against the teeth and prevents dental disease-this will also help you in about 3 years time from having to spend $400 +++ on a dental for your puppy! Hope this helps
  10. I work in a veterinary practice and it really is one of the minor problems that occurs in dogs. I would recommend only giving your dog a bone when your at home. When it starts getting right down to the bone throw it away. Bones get stuck in dogs throats when they get brittle and they break into the bone itself rather than "grinding on the bone to clean their teeth". The bone marrow is also high in fat and not a good idea to be eaten by your dogs. A substitute for bones is a product called "greenies" they have the same affect as bones, clean the teeth and prevent smell breath and expensive dentals but are less risky than bones. These are available from vet practices also. Hope this helps??? :D ;)
